Smash the MM odds...it is easy!
The problem with buying the lot of 46 with the same mega ball is that you haven't improved your odds of matching the 5 straight balls that's the necessary precondition to winning the jackpot. You've spent 46 dollars but you still only roughly 1 chance in 4 million in getting the second prize. It's the same odds as if you spent 1 dollar.

Smash the MM odds...it is easy!
Todd says Therefore, for $46, it's like buying one ticket for a 5/56 game. You are correct Todd, that is what I was saying. Perhaps I was being too subtle. My point being that levering the odds on MM does not take as much thinking and is not as subtle as levering the odds on x/xx (eg 6/49) games.

longest roll
What are the odds the jackpot will get high enough that they'll actually sell 175+ million tickets though? I remember last year the MM jackpot got to $290 million, and they sold over 132 million tickets when the odds were only 135 million to 1.

What Has helped The Most?
Hi,I made a wrong assumption (caculation) in my previous post. So 300 times 12-wheels the odds are 1 chance to 3.24(=(973/300)) approx. to have all 6.... A 6/42 game has 5,245,786 6 number combinations.if you have 277,200 combinations (300 times full 12-wheels) you're chance to have all 6 =(277,200/5,245,786) * 100% = 5.28 % .The odds are then 1 chance in 18 approx. instead of 1 chance in 3.24 approx. as mentioned in my previous post....... Goodbye, Harmen

Mega Millions Sets A New Record
The more states play MM, the higher the jackpot. I'm glad to see CA participating MM without having the lawsuit shut it down. The matrix and more players makes the jackpot continue to grow faster. Although the odds of winning a prize improves from 1 in 43 to 1 in 39.89, the odds of winning a jackpot increases from 1 in 136 million to 1 in 176 million.

'Blue Game' pitched to MUSL members
You could just search the jackpot forum for details but basically it's another jackpot style game similar to Powerball. Why MUSL states would agree to have two very similar games at the same time is beyond me. Since it is so unlikely to happen I don't see what the point of talking about it is. MUSL would be better off just fixing Powerball like dumping the jackpot limit rule and having a good middle odds game like Hot Lotto or a 6/49 or even a 6/53 game rather than another long odds game.
