The Michigan Weekly-7/3 thru 7/9
An exact repeat isn't that uncommon. It has happened before and I think more than once. The odds of this happening are only 1 in 1000. Now if it was the exact same Fantasy 5 or Classic Lottery numbers than you could call a conspiracy. But come on 1 in 1000 odds of the same number coming up and its a conspiracy. It's not that bad.Brad

Ohio Pick 3 - 07/06/2005
Those are my rare numbers that you might have seen me discussing. I also have them all (except the triples) listed as my Sure Hits for July . They consist of pure odds, pure evens, and series numbers. The odds are they will hit about 1/3 of the time, but some places it is closer to 40%. Pick a few of your favorites and try it!!

Follow-up to reducing 90,000 combinations
LANTERNI just want to counter just one thing you said. I think a player should really be aware of the odds if they want to take filtering seriously and not lose a lot of money in the process.Probably another bad analogy but you can play poker for fun and amusement, but if you start playing seriously or competitively (however small the stakes) you need to be aware of the odds.

Maddogs Powerball Challange 7/2
If anyone can come up with 18 white balls numbers and 6 powerball numbers that have all the winning numbers among them, they will improve their odds of winning from 1:120.526,770 to 1:51,408 improving their odds over 2300 times.

GA singles-All Odds, All Lows, All Highs
.... are all overdue. It's unusual to see these three groups (of 10 numbers each) all approaching max-out simultaneously. You'd figure one of these 30 is likely to hit very soon.135 137 139 157 159 179 357 359 379 579012 013 014 023 024 034 123 124 134 234567 568 569 578 579 589 678 679 689 789Fourteen skips now for digit 7, combined draws.

Are we seeing the results of CA?
I believe it is because in addition to the new players in california the odds have increased a bit and it would appear that to the folks the reporter interviewed they think they will win less often then before the odds change. They could play other games provided by the georgia lottery if they wanted to increase their options of winning smaller amounts of cash. I on the other hand will play mega for the jackpot and any other winnings in the near term are gravy!

What is better?
I agree, and I do play both just like CT, I play Powerball and CT state lotto. Although it's a low jackpot, CT lottery odds are pretty decent when compared to other lotteries. Play both or as many as you can with a reasonable amount of money sounds like the best way to increase one's individual odds. LOL.

What is better?
The jackpot odds are the ONLY thing that's better about NY Lotto. Why spend money on a game that returns ONLY 38%-40% to winners? The OVERALL odds are better in Mega Millions, and (except for CA) you're guaranteed to win $2 if you match the Mega Ball, v $1 for three numbers in NY Lotto.

What are the odds?
I just returned from the store where I made a small purchase with a $5 bill. With the $3 change I got 3 powerball quick picks. All three powerball numbers were #22. Doesn't that seem kind of strange?

The Math and The Lottery
In 184 of the 280 Powerball drawings none of the numbers 03 08 12 23 36 53 came up. Eliminating these numbers from the pool of 53 numbers could had reduced the odds of winning from 1:120M to 1:72M during those 184 draws. I doubt if anyone takes advantage of that fact even though everyone is aware that these numbers have hit less than 20 times each during all 280 drawings because tilting the odds by 40% during 65% of the drawings is not enough to make a difference to the average lottery player.
