Powerball/Mega Milions Jackpots
Quote: Originally posted by codmander on January 31, 2005lol nevermind the $ let em lessen the odds some You could lessen the odds even more by playing state lotteries instead of powerball/megamillions. That's what those games are for and some offer pots larger than mega/powerball are usually at like the NY or CA lotteries. If you don't like the game than don't play.

Let's get the (power)ball rollin'....
Hi all,I can respect the odds that the next number will be higher than 12. But, I'm going to go against the odds, (mainly because I can, Although I maybe wrong). I see that the powerball has been running in the double digits since 1/12/05. I just think it may dip down under 12 for at least one game then go back up even higher. But as I said, I have been know to be wrong.litebets27

I Won $150 Mega Millions Tonight!
Congrats Todd....isn't it a shame that it only paid $150 when the odds of doing it are 1:9,686? Should have paid closer to $5000.Good work! It's not the money you won, but the odds you beat that counts.

Thanks everyone ... BobP - You would think one of us would've hit by now with the odds seemingly in our favor - just goes to show all of us how hard it is to beat the odds!!

Massachusetts Judge Denies Demand for Lump-Sum Lottery Prize Payment

She most likely will not be around for the next 20 years to collect all the payments. There supposedly has been people that have lived that long, but the odds are against it.Heck, the odds are against most of us reaching 94!

Lottery Players Convention
You implied because you could either win or lose the odds were 50/50.The two outcomes have different odds of occurring. BobPSorry, when I purchase a $1.00 ticket, I have purchased 1 chance to win or not. If not, I have lose. Only a number cruncher could make more out of those simple facts.
