BobPI'm sure the above reply must have something to do with number crunching but i don't understand the statement. You implied because you could either win or lose the odds were 50/50. The two outcomes have different odds of occurring. BobP

A Question...
Unique Digits 3 Pick Payout 4 Pick Payout 1 900 to 1 9,000 to 1 2 300 to 1 2,250 to 1 3 150 to 1 750 to 1 4 NA 375 to 1 These payouts are for BOX plays. A straight pays 900:1 for Pick 3 and 9,000:1 for Pick 4.These are based on the odds of hitting. When playing Pick 3, a straight has the odds of 1000:1 and Pick 4 is 10,000:1.

PB Drawing for Saturday 12-18-04
JAG,You're very good with the analysis of odds and probabilities. For all practical purposes, there's nothing wrong with rounding the numbers. I only mentioned that for puposes of clarification in explaining the dual matrix effect. Are those 1:10,584 odds based on the assumption that a complete wheel of the ten numbers is used?C'ya next challenge, aye'

Gods of statistics and probability
Sedertree -The Wizard of Odds (Michael Shackleford) has been in the odds business for years. His main slant is towards card (mainly poker) and casino games. Good information in his specialized niche. We exchanged links a couple of years ago - I don't know whether he still has the link to my site on his page but I maintain the link to his. Seems like a reasonable person to deal with.gljohn

New Game Idea
Quote: Originally posted by johnph77 on December 10, 2004Game as suggested with a $1Mil fixed jackpot has a payout percentage of 35.49%, even with four plays per $. Most jurisdictions are set at 50% or slightly more. How did you come up with that? I went to the Barnager odds calculator to determine all the odds and amounts. It may not be accurate in case, but it's free so I can't complain. I did put in 50% for the overall prize pool, maybe you're thinking of the top prize being 35.5%.

Lottery Post U.S. Doubles Drag Net..
Win D,Well based upon past history, even while there's no guarantee, the play is a good one since it reduces the odds. After all, that's about all any of us can do is reduce the odds, since there's no method that produces the winning combo on a specific day.I've reduced my own combos down to twenty, so maybe I'm cutting it too close. (what else is new? LOL) -- Tried to send you a PM on it, but got bounced as your inbox is full. You are such a popular person.
