My Made-Up State's Lottery
Triple 6 is the game that gives away devilishly big money, with jackpots that start at $6 million, and could reach over $200 million. And you can win by just matching 2 numbers. Just pick 6 numbers out of 66, or use quick pick, get your ticket, and check the drawings Tuesday and Friday at 6:58 P.M.Odds and Avg. Hidden opportunities within abbr. wheels
As I noted in my post, the odds of matching 2of3 in a 3/10 game would be 1:6, so why would playing 8 lines be a good strategy? Maybe the optimization of this strategy might be clearer if you explained it using a 6/49 game where the odds of matching 2of6 is 1:8.RJOh

Hmmm, law of averages perhaps ?
If you're only pick one line of six numbers for each drawing then you're picking 6of49 or 12.3% of the numbers all the time. Your odds of matching 3of6 are 1: 61 or 1.6% of the times you play a line, so if you're matching 3 or better more than one time per 61 plays then you are beating the odds.RJOh

opposite
Just watched a classic sitcom episode where one of the cast decided that by doing exactly opposite of what seemed logical his outcomes seemed to turn for the better. Im sure most of you know which show this is ;)So how does this tv show relate to my pick-3?Well, Ive been a conservative pick-3 participant making sure that I always include mostly 6-way box number sets with better odds. Now, would it be all that crazy to start playing only 3-way box sets? ...forget those odds and go for the pote

What's the most you've spent on a ticket?
Quote: Originally posted by DoctorEw220 on November 12, 2004ok. now what's the most anyone's ever spent on an in-state game?Well seeing that my state of NY's Lotto game has such bad odds I have played $2 max. The odds are so insulting lol. The only thing i like about that game is it's 2 games for $1. I think im gonna play Take Five more often since there's less total numbers in the draw (39), and matching 3 #'s gives you $25 versus Lotto's $1 for matching 3 #'s.

OH thinking of replacing Super Lotto Plus
If they expect to charge $2 per play, they going to have better odds than MegaMillions and a good size jackpot amount. With Rolling Cash5 being a mini jackpot game, I doubt if there will must interest in paying $2 for a ticket with worse overall odds than the other games.RJOh
