Since the Powerball Instant Millionaire scratch off went away, I haven't been buying scratch tickets for the most part.This week I bought a $2 ticket for the first time in months. It won me $44. That rarely happens, but it does happen.One thing to be said is the odds for winning something, not necessarily the grand prize, are higher than on the other games. Most LA Lottery scratch tickets have odds of around 1 in 4.

What are greater odds?.... Odds of winning are independent of the manner of number selection. 70% of jackpot wins are quick picks because 70% of ALL picks are quick picks.Best of luck to all of you REGARDLESS of how you pick your numbers.

The odds of having a straight hit in pick3 are 1:1000 which pays $500 on a $1 bet in most State lotteries, so there's no advantage to playing 500 numbers or more to win. If you are interested in a box hit, you can cover every outcome with less than 250 combinations which pays less than $100 on a $1 bet. You need to know the odds and payout amounts to decide the amount of lines that are worth playing.RJOh

The odds never change, the odds of picking three Key numbers correctly are the same as picking any three numbers correctly, don't do it if you don't think you can. In that case I'd suggest playing a different wheel. BobP

Matching 5 of 5 only means that you do not match the Mega number. Therefore, there are 26 unique sets of matching 5 of 5 without getting the Mega and only one unique set of matching 5 of 5 plus the Mega. If you multiply the odds that you calculated by 27 and divide by 26, which is the number of variations without matching the Mega number, then you will get the odds printed on the playslip.

Keep in mind that The Big Game offer that size jackpot with ~1:80M odds of winning which was a lot better than the present odds of Mega Millions or Power Ball.
