Lottofan:If you look back in this thread, you will see lots of discussion of my methods, including sales estimation (which I calculate from the predicted cash values.) Many other posters here made contributions and helped refine my estimates. They are just that though.Actually when the number of tickets is small when compared with the odds, the method yields values that are very close the type of calculation you suggest where the sales/odds percentage is subtracted from 100.

LANTERN,The odds of winning a Pick3 game hasn't changed since the game started, you just have to decide if you want to win bad enough to be willing to lose some money. With odds of app. 220:1 of a box hit, if you play 50 different combinations a day, you should get a box hit once or twice a week. I don't think a real choice was listed. The reason people don't win is because the odds are against them. How many people could afford to cover the odds of say, 1 out of 14,000,000. Answer= none! No manner what anyone professes, it's the luck of the draw- no skill.

Recently Ohio introduced that same idea into their jackpot game SuperLottoPlus for a match 3of6 to reduce their odds of winning to 1:54. Imagine how a winner would feel if they were offered 100 free plays for a 4of6 match instead of the $100 now payed. It could happen because Ohio is looking for a way to advertise improved odds and payout less money in all their games.RJOh

PS One of the reasons pick three is so popular is the fact that you can play for fifty cents and another is that some combinations have odds of 167 to one. Lowest odds of almost every other Lottery game.
