Georgia Lottery officials approved for the first time Thursday an online ticket system, with sales to the public set to begin as soon as November.
The move is expected to increase the Georgia Lottery's revenue by millions of dollars a year thus helping the state's lottery-funded HOPE Scholarships and pre-kindergarten programs and positions Georgia among the first states nationwide to officially expand lottery sales to the Internet.

By Allison Cooke and Beverley Hadgraft
Seven months ago, I was a typical 19-year-old working in a Melbourne [Australia] warehouse, packing books and earning $17 an hour to help pay my way through university. Then, suddenly, I was a millionaire.
Have I been partying ever since? No. I'm one of four kids from a single-parent family doing it tough and Mum has instilled in me the value of a dollar.
I won my prize last November after buying two tickets for a BoysTown lottery a charity that he

Welfare & Jackpot Lottery Winners
I think the major problem with our country is the entitlement attitude that pervades every sector and corner of our country, from government officials and workers, to union employees to hourly employees to school children and adults of all ages and even to military members and their families. Now I don't just throw out a controversial statement like that without providing background and proof.
Government service used to be just that, but now all you hear from heads of government agencies is t

D.C. Council poised to repeal online gambling
After becoming the first jurisdiction in the nation to legalize online gambling within its borders, the District of Columbia is poised to repeal the program before it launches.

Councilmember Jack Evans told The Associated Press on Tuesday th
