Will oversee addition of Mega Millions game before moving on The longtime head of the New Hampshire state lottery is retiring after more than three decades with the agency. Executive Director Rick Wisler, 52, denied he is being forced out but said he has decided to pursue a second career after 34 years in state government. Wisler has run the lottery since 1994. The $196 million lottery prize for a Mega Millions ticket sold in the Clermont County village of Amelia in May was claimed Friday by a lawyer on behalf of an undisclosed client. The ticket was submitted for The Anthony Trust, said a spokeswoman for the Ohio Lottery. The name of the winner is known to Ohio officials, who will check for possible unpaid child support or unpaid state taxes, said Ohio Lottery spokeswoman Marie Kilbane. An exception to the Ohio Public Records Act means state

How Many Past Draws Do You Look At?
Think about this for a minute. What if we bought 15 cans of tennis balls for 35 balls in total, and we quickly open the cans and number the balls 01-35, put them all on a shelf ten feet above the floor and with a measure line five feet above the floor, with video camera rolling we let the balls fall and see how high they bounce. Do you think they will all bounce to the same height? If we did the same with a new set of 35 balls, do you think the ones with the same numbers

Can't Feed the Pig when Uncle Sam & The Lottery Steals all the Food
WARNING: LONG READ AHEAD I am truly sick to my stomach after analyzing the numbers of the PA Lottery. I'm using PA as an example, but Im sure whatever state you live in, the numbers are most likely similar. Right now, for every dollar in ticket sales, only $0.38 is returned to the players. I always believed the numbers were closer to 50/50, but thats not the case. So right now, if PA sold $1,000,000 of Cash 5 tickets, the pool is only going to be around $300k-$400k. Pretty significant chu

Lottery Witness
Thanks Cointoss...I have sat in and been a part of many lottery draws here. I will repost my experience(s) again to give everyone an idea of what happens. Sidenote: everything happens legitimately and the draws officials (who can play) even rip up their tickets after its all over. DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LOTTERY DRAW It's 11 AM on a Wednesday morning, lottery draws officials are just arriving for a long day of work at 20 Dundas Street. Many people may think that the officials only work aft

Lottery winner demonstrates the right way to claim a big jackpot
Remember, each individual is different. For the pharmacist, waiting three months to claim her prize -- was right for her. New Mexico has a 90-day window -- if you do not claim your prize within 90 days, you forfeit your winnings because there is not a six-month waiting period, here. However, I am not sure if you can form a LIMITED PARTNERSHIP in New Mexico. Nevertheless, New Mexico does not require a press conference (although the lottery personnel would like you to do so), but you are requi

Lottery CEO fired one day after poll
fThe president of the B.C. Lottery Corporation was fired one day after an internal poll last May showed public trust in the corporation had plummeted in the wake of a warning by the province's Ombudsman of possible fraud by some retailers. However, another poll taken a month later showed tfhe removal of BCLC president and CEO Vic Poleschuk had done little to restore public confidence, and public estimates of ongoing retailer theft had barely changed. The first internal poll, dated May 31,

New Jackpot Winners
Over the last week, we have seen Powerball and Mega Millionswon. There are a total of 5 new minted Jackpot Millionaire Winners. My hopes and prayers is that they will do weel by their new fortunes and also their families and some less fortunate people if they so chose to do so. But I have to tell you, I am so not feeling this new winner from Maryland. See below! Before the commission headquarters opens he is out in front of camera's. Certainly it is an assumption that he doesn't have a

Lottery 'glitch' leaves players suspicious
Great story! This is the most damaging story yet to appear in the press accounts I have read. And it should be one that has all lottery players in every state that has an RNG...not just the players in Tennessee...screaming for an end to this crooked method of selecting numbers. Let's look at a few of the remarks made in this story and tie the lose ends together: Since the acknowledgement of the glitch, Hargrove and other lottery executives have downplayed the need for a thorough probe,
