Tenn Lottery spokeswoman said no chance of drawing error
Lottery Post Exclusive
By Todd Northrop
In early August, when Tennessee Lottery players began seeing the effects of the state's new computerized drawing system, and didn't like what they saw, the lottery's spokeswoman responded with reassuring words.
Now she is forced to eat those words.
The security and integrity of our games is of utmost importance, said Kym Gerlock, a spokeswoman for the Lottery. There's no reason to doubt these drawings or question the integrity of how we do th

Players warned lottery about tickets flaw
Tennessee lottery players say they warned lottery officials more than 10 days ago that a new computerized system to pick random numbers in the Cash 3 and Cash 4 games appeared to be malfunctioning.
They say they were ignored for days while a computer software glitch kept duplicate numbers from being drawn in the games. That meant players who picked numbers like 6-6-9 in Cash 3 or 5-5-5-3 in Cash 4 had no chance of winning.
Lottery officials announced Tuesday that the glitch had been correc

Lure of riches fuels lottery craze in China
Jackpot chasers steal millions in cash, only to spend them on tickets
Two employees at a Chinese bank dream of getting rich quick. The only two with the keys to the vault, they steal a few thousand dollars to see whether anyone notices. No one does. So they take more. In the course of a month, they walk away with $6.6 million.
Instead of running away with their mountains of cash, the two do something seemingly illogical.
They buy lottery tickets.
Since police arrested the pair this s

Quebec Lottery winners' names to kept secret
As they daydreamed about winning the jackpot yesterday, some Loto-Quebec regulars were sure about one thing.
No names and definitely no picture of me in the paper, said Brigitte Serpa, a waitress at the Euro Deli on St. Laurent Blvd. who spends about $40 a month on Super 7 and 6/49 tickets.
Serpa, 34, said a new Loto-Quebec policy not to publicize any details about people who win more than $4 million suits her just fine.
The publicity restriction comes after an alleged extortion plot

Paranoid or Prudent?
You're dealing with the dirtiest industry I've ever seen in my 30 years of doing business...
-former Kentucky Lottery CFO Russ Davidson as quoted in the Atlanta Journal Constitution
While this remark has no context attached to it, I do believe it generally reflects the nature of the Lottery industry in the United States and indeed worldwide.
I joined Lottery Post in good faith just as I played the Lottery in good faith. But my experience with

How a lottery thief got away with the crime
When backpackers Caroline Day and Mei-Yin Lee discovered they had won Lotto they rang home from the newsagency. It was after one in the morning in Britain but Ms. Day wanted to share the news with her mother.
During that joyous phone call, they calculated they had won about 220,000 (US$300,000).
But three weeks later when Dr. Lee rang NSW Lotteries to inquire about the money, a bold fraud by an employee at the newsagency came to light and it would be another 27 months before the pair

The lowdown on RNG predraws in WC
I email i got back from WCLC 0n thier predraws and how they work.
Dear Jamie,
Thank you for your two e-mails to Western Canada Lottery Corporation
(WCLC).
The pre-draw test that you reference is conducted by the computerized
draw machine in order to initialize the draw system, and it occurs prior
to every regional draw. During the pre-draw test, which takes only a
few seconds, the draw machine generates thousands of pre-draw numbers
within itself and confirms that every possibl

Improper posting again. Crap! I admit it. This is not the first time this has happened .....and it's just one of hundreds of important things I've missed or forgotten to do here lately.
It's been a struggle to remember all the things I need remember to do. As a matter of fact thats one of the things I'm taking care of today with American Express. I'm writing them a letter hoping to get that straight and searching for a way to make it up to them as well. I think I've
