TX to join Powerball!
Quote: Originally posted by CASH Only on June 03, 2003 Todd: MM would have to lengthen the jackpot odds if Texas joins. Maybe 5/(55-57) + 1/49.I agree, whichever multi-state lottery adds Texas, they'll have to lengthen the odds. Plus, I'd like to see them start the jackpot at $15 million instead of $10 million.

Powerball growing faster
Quote: Originally posted by CASH Only on May 12, 2003 Todd: I would do this: change the format to 5/55 + 1/49 (longer jackpot odds, but better overall chance)increase minimum jackpot to $15 millionlengthen annuity option to 30 paymentsdouble 4+1 prize to $10,000; 4+0 prize increases to $200Yes, yes, yes, and yes, but also increase the 5+0 prize to $250,000. There will be longer odds to hitting that prize, so best to make it larger!

Basics
There was also some of your predictions I found where you were totally out in left field. Just give me a simple ratio. The odds of winning Pic 3 (straight) is 1:1000, Using your program, let's say for a year, what are the odds reduced to?

Basics
How much are the odds reduced in my pick 3 software?http://www.dreamwater.net/biz/sedertree/screenshot1.jpgAs for beating the odds, please see the following threads:https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/68183.htmhttps://www.lotterypost.com/thread/68145.htmAs for fruit instead of numbers . As long as there are a finite set of fruit and they are drawn by position. The results would be the same.

Probability Question
Quote: Originally posted by CASH Only on May 03, 2003 1 in 500, since NY has gone to midday AND night draws. No, the odds for each of the two drawings is 1 in 1000, so 2 draws would give you odds of 2 in 2000, or 1 in 1000.

i cant win
Well they do have bad odds at winning prizes but not too bad overall. I mean a $5 ticket in Michigan has approximate overall odds of 1 in 3.5. That isn't too bad, even if you only win your $5 back. Instant games are addictive like you said though because of their instant qualities. Usually you keep buying until you win. That can add up once in awhileBrad

OHIO Lotto 6/49 Wed 4/23 $29m
What ever Ohio decide to do, the payout will be less for every dollar taken in. When Ohio lottery first started, it had better odds, better payout and larger jackpots. Each improvement has meant worst odds, smaller prize amounts and smaller jackpots. There is no reason to think that this trend will change. Each year that the state dosn't show an increase in profit is reported as a lost.RJOh

NY Lotto $55,000,000
WOW! I am surprised. The odds of winning from a dollar are 1 in 22 million and change. When the cash value of the jackpot is at where the odds of winning are....you don't see to many of those. I wish I could start playing this game!Brad

Mega Millions getting boring
RJ: My proposal has BETTER odds of winning _any_ prize, since there are 49 Mega Balls vs 52. Adding three numbers on the top makes the jackpot odds longer. (There would still be 104 balls.)
