$2M Michigan lottery winner defends use of food stamps
Ha Ha! Look what was posted just as I was going to

Good point about the gas prices Ridge, but what about Bush s
midterm record hikes on oil and gas prices? The Arabs saud we can have all the
oil we could buy and there was no shortage. Then all across the nation what was
once disposable income and savings for things like autos went south. In the
summer of 2008 the news was a flash but it was there: Auto sales were down. The
writing was on the wall bud and the

Statistician cracks secret code behind lottery tickets
Is the apparent randomness of the scratch ticket just a facade, a mathematical lie?
The call came around 3 a.m. Toronto time, which was midnight in Nevada where Doug Hartzell was sleeping. It was his old friend, Mohan Srivastava, phoning from Canada.
He called me and said, 'Man, I think I'm losing it. But I see a pattern in scratch lottery tickets,' said Hartzell, recalling that 2003 conversation.
My reaction almost instantly was like: I'm sure he's right.

A chance to split a $380 million jackpot. Where's the problem in that?
Sure the money will change the lives of the Mega Millions lottery winners, but it's imperative that they have a sound financial plan. Failure to map out a strategy for their winnings could lead to misery.
A retired man in Washington, Jim McCullar, claimed his prize on Thursday, while the Idaho ticket holder has yet to surface.
The delay in coming forward after Tuesday's drawing means the winners are likely following

Do not get burned by this service station!
In response to b$Rizzle, No I don't think all of the prizes are at the first of the roll, just a quite a few of them. All I asked was for honesty, but I did not ask, it was implied. I have trusted the lottery up until this point. Not to win in every certain number of tickets, but to be given a fair chance. Think about it for a moment, if the last tickets in the book never had any big winners in them, then they would just sit on the shelf with no one buying them. I have over 60 that say that they

Texas Lottery drawings inspire confidence
Contrasted to the Arkansas Lottery decision last week to hide their drawings inside a computer, Texas has a model approach
Stephanie Guidry and Mickey Roberts didn't have much else to do, so they stopped in front of the Texas Lottery Commission offices to watch the winning numbers be drawn.
And because she and boyfriend Mickey Roberts had nothing pressing against their schedule from 10:09 to 10:13 on a weeknight, she stayed for the adventure.
Even though they did not purchase a lottery

Contract controversy reveals D.C. Lottery's tangled roots
Jerry Cooper, the man who helped bring legalized gambling and the lottery to the District nearly 30 years ago, called local businessman Warren C. Williams Sr. with a suggestion last year.
The District's contract with Lottery Technology Enterprises, the firm that has run the city's online gaming for about 25 years, was going to expire by 2009. Would Williams be interested in bidding against LTE for the lucrative contract?
No, but maybe his son and daughter-in-law would.

The hidden Lotto millionaires
They have wealth beyond their wildest dreams but nobody knows. In the Irish province of Ulster some of the millionaires have made their identities known to the world, but most have not.
They are the next door neighbors who hide the secret that they are millionaires.
Some are scared their wealth will end lifelong friendships. And some worry that new found friends would be attracted by their money and nothing else.
They are the National Lottery millionaires who go to amazing lengths to
