Maryland State Lottery's Keno Payout f How do I play Keno? Keno is played using a field of numbers from 1 through 80. You can select - or choose Quick Pick - up to 10 numbers in that field. The Lottery's computer randomly chooses 20 winning numbers between 1 and 80 for each game of Keno and displays those winning numbers on the Keno Information Monitor. Odds of likely "no hits"
I was hoping some of you mathemeticians can help me on this one. I'm trying to figure out the odds of Mega Millions if I omit the bad sequences. I mean numbers such as 1,2,3,4,5, 2,3,4,5,6,...... 18,19,20,21,22, 31,32,33,34,35..... 2,4,6,8,10 3,6,9,12,15 5,10,15,20,25 I know that there are chances that these number CAN happen but the odds are pretty slim. Is there some way I can figure this out in Excel?, I don't know maybe a formula to remove them or such? Im no

MORE Stench in PA
you are wrong to a certain extent....play less $ or less frequently is better...Even with the game nearly doubling the previous odds..it is still the best jackpot game in PA...it has 5 times better odds than match 6, it is better than PB match 5...and the jackpots will roll more often than in the past...pick 3 and 4 are not jackpot games so i will dismiss them as alternatives (they are not greener pastures)...the majority of people play it to hit it big...(by the way ever since the new format th

Scratch-Off Skepticism
Hi. I have a question. Let's say I want to play an instant scratch-off lottery game that has overall winning odds of 1 in 4. If possible, how do I know those odds are not bogus? Is there a way I can calculate those odds myself? Unlike instant games, with all of the numbering possibilties of (for example) pick3, pick4 games, I know how to calculate the odds myself. But with instant games, the consumer doesn't know how many tickets were printed (made). If we did, (...assuming the

$5 Powerball Quick Pick Oddity
I love your post. I have tried to discuss this point before but no one gets what I was saying about odds. I have made posts not too long ago saying that duplicate numbers like yours are lucky. I based a system of picks on these duplicate. My theory is that if you are buying a handful of lines, you odds of matching the right numbers is greater than say buying one ticket IE 10 > 1. There are 5 white balls in one line (1 of 10). To win using these white balls, you have to match >2 nu

Maybe when a lottery does a roll over thats your chance
Maybe if you bet a lottery will roll over each time you play you would improve your odds. Big time! You have to wait. Wait until the last minute to play and know what the unplayed combos were at that time. Each time a lottery does a roll over that could be your chance to win. At least the odds would be better for your just in time numbers . Maybe someone with access to the lottery computer totals up to that point in time and play just the unplayed combinations that were left over.

the average lottery player
I think the average player will play a ticket once in a while, or when the jackpot gets pretty high and everyone is talking about it. Had the question been how does the average person play the lottery , you're answer would be correct but you just described an occasional player. What I did not know is that if you go too deeply into odds and the number system, we become less intelligent than an average player, who understands the value of a dollar. For a dollar you get a chance to hi

Personal Numbers
This has evolved into a pretty good thread. I'm surprised that nobody bothered to rate it before now, so I just rated it as Excellent - 5 stars. Nothing changes the odds of hitting a jackpot, but my own experience has shown me that employing some systematic methods can result in cashing more and bigger tickets for the secondary prizes. As for the debate about whether or not the odds of a given combination being drawn again remain the same once they've been drawn, the answer is.... Yes,

What is the probability?
Win D, are you saying that for five games in a row there were straights drawn that had never been drawn before in GA?? If this is the case, here is a close approximation of the estimated odds as I see them: 1/2^5 = 1/2x1/2x1/2x1/2x1/2 = 1/32....or 1 in 32. These odds don't seem too far out there at all, but I dont arrive at them without logic. If you take the last number drawn and look at how many consecutive games ago that it last hit, you will find that this value is less than o
