Lottery Odds.
Why do people worry about lottery odds?
If you do your thing right, you won't have to worry so much about lottery odds.
Past winning draws don't tell lies, what you see is what it is.
The lottery behaves as you see on the past draws, they guide you.
You might call it prediction, but what you do is just following whatever , call it random if you want to, but it is not a good idea to call it random , cause it might lead to your thinking that things are out of your control and you might

MO Pick-6 predictions
Hans
The question I posed was to see if you could make the calculations. The answer is 228. That's the
number of lines one would have to play to ensure a JP hit even if having 5 correct numbers in a pool
of 6, the other number must come from outside the pool.
The odds you post are based on a $1.00 play. The real odds for matching a 4of6 on a single line is 1 in 669.42
not 1 in 335. There are 84 possible 6 number lines that can be generated from a pool of 9. However we cannot

Odds 101
How many different ways can it be explained to you that when you buy 10 different numbers on straight pick-4 that there are 10 different chances to match the winning number? I think I've tried most of them, but I'll try once more. Let's start with the deck of cards again.
Me: There are 51 cards that aren't the ace of spades and 1 card that is, so the odds are 51:1 against.
you: And if you draw another card, there are now 49 cards that are not the ace of spades, so odds the are

I checked the odds on some of the $5 scratch-off tickets and I found that you will hit $500 on average, more times than you would playing $5 in the Ezmatch. Below are the odds for the $5 Crown Jewel ticket from the FL lottery web site.

need ideas
ethanl, I can give you a great idea for improving your odds of winning any lottery. But you will have to earn the answer by correctly answering the following question.
If buying a single ticket for a particular lottery game results in odds of 1 in 10 million of winning the jackpot, then buying two different tickets for the same lottery will result in odds of 1 in X of winning the jackpot.
What is the value of X?
Please do not give the original poster the answer. Let ethanl answer the

Is there any method or system that can an predict the first digit that will fall in Pick 3
Agreed.
People often equate odds and probability even though technically they are not exactly the same. Odds is just easier because it's one syllable. Probability has more letters and five syllables.
So, with Pick 3, the traditional way to describe odds of winning with a single ticket is 1:999, and with a second ticket, it is 2:998. You can reduce 2:998 to 1:499.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
both tickets are still up against odds of more than 292.2 million to one.
No, each ticket is up against odds of 292 million to one. Both tickets are up against odds of 146.1 million to one. Besides, ...
Those who refuse to lay out $5 for a ticket that could win millions are outrageous.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
If the Mega Millions jackpot rolls four more times, it will break the 36 roll record for Mega Millions.
The odds the jackpot is won in the next draw is about 3.3%. Lets say the odds for each of the next fours draws averages out to 3.5%, then the odds the jackpot rolls at least 4 more times is about 87%.
The Powerball record is 41 rolls.
