Been playing the lottery for years without a major win. So...
I've been playing since the mid 1980 s. Back then, I had no idea what the odds were. Really, I only realized how high the odds were on jackpot games when I moved to Texas around 1998. Having said that, I really like playing games that are hard. Even Pick 4 straight is hard to hit, that's 1 in 10,000. All it takes is one ticket, and if you don't have a ticket you most certainly will not have any chance at all. I do agree with amber about threads asking about frustration and wondering when a

Post your scratch ticket results
What are the odds of hitting that $300k jackpot in your state? A $2m prize on a $10 ticket is about 1 in 2.5-3m here. A $5m prize on a $20 ticket is 1 in 3.8m. We have a top prize on $10 million on a $25 scratchoff ticket in Florida which has odds of 1 in 8.1m. While big jackpots are life changing, I would enjoy playing a lottery with more accessible prizes. I wouldn't mind playing a $20 ticket with a jackpot of $100k if the odds of hitting $500 were very attainable. To me, anything $100

British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
Who says Canadians can't participate in US elections? No, they can't vote in US elections, but Canadians can place bets on who is going to win. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has been taking bets on the 2016 U.S. election since early last year. It's become the most popular wager in an online gaming category the lottery calls novelty betting. The provincial lottery contracts with a global sportsbook based in Ireland to set the odds. BC Lottery spokesman Doug Cheng said the odd

Scratcher Tickets Poll
I don't get the odds on scratchers. I might be slow but the odds are like 1 out of 2,000,000 for a grand prize. Yet If the winning ticket isn't in your city or a store you frequent then what are your odds. At least with the megamillions or Powerball. It's numbers and those numbers can hit anywhere. I still play the instant tickets but it's something I always think about . To the answer the question I'll play the older game. .

Mean, Median, Mode
If you're referring to the 1 from my screen shot, that's the count of how many days has passed since a hit occurred. I wrote a SQL script that went through each number, for each position (for 20 years), and marked how long it took to get a hit from the last hit that number had. Then figured the mode for that stat. So if you look at the first screen shot, there's three pop ups on that page, one for each of three sums. The sum of 16's top hitter is two days out. So when the sum of 16 hits, it h

Playing The Lottery Is Total Insanity.
Insulting? You'd be surprised by the number of people who truly don't understand the astronomical odds, both on this site and friends and relatives. They may hear or read about the odds but it doesn't register. How many threads have you seen that is about someone knowing for an absolute fact that they will win someday?...That's insane. The reason I'm here is to find a p-3 system that works on a regular basis. This is why I picked the p-3 game, it's the easiest to win. With only 1 in 1,000 for

Playing The Lottery Is Total Insanity.
The fact that it only costs a buck or two is irrelevant due to the astronomical odds against you or me winning. Most people only focus on the winner, but avoid the multitudes of losing tickets. Most people will play the JP games for 20 or 30 years and NEVER EVER win the JP, that's a fact. I do realize the temptation to play because it's enticing. The thought of living the rest of your life comfortably is on my mind too, but my mind deals with reality and the odds. If someone said there w

Higher jackpots or better odds?
Texas Lotto is 1 in 25,827,165. PB odds for 5+0 is 1 in 11,688,054. MM odds for 5+0 is 18,492,204. That's why I play every draw. With megapiler and powerplay it's life changing with better odds than the state's lotto.

Higher jackpots or better odds?
I would rather state lotto's improved the odds and stopped trying to increase jackpots Illinois odds aren't that great to win on regular lotto 1:20,358,520 and they changed price a few years back to increase jackpot (Tickets used to be $1 for 2 lines now its 1 line for $1) I would rather have lower odds and return to two lines for $1 No one wins the Illinois lotto anymore. It goes months without winner

Are Quick Picks Somewhat Rigged as You Have a Better Chance Winning at a 7 Eleven than a Gas Station
Here is something for consideration; there are approximately 57,000 Seven-Eleven stores in the world, 10,500 in the United States alone. Many of the smaller gas station convenience stores may only have one location. Using the U.S. locations (1 mom and pop; 10,500 Seven-Elevens), if each location were to sell just 1 lottery ticket for a lottery drawing, and one of those tickets was guaranteed to win, what are the odds the winning ticket would be sold at a 7/11? Each ticket has an equal chance to
