Non claimed winnings thoughts
I think that any money that is unclaimed in a state, should tally the money at the end of the year and hold raffles with it instead of giving it to the state. The money is logistically, (in my mind anyway), the players money, not the states. If a state has 5 million in non-claimed money then raffle it in 1 million prizes or 1 million then some lower prizes. Don't know how that would work though. Maybe for every dollar you spend on lottery the next year, you get in on the raffle or every ten you

KA-BOOM! 4th of July PA Millionaire Raffle! It's On!
I haven't done it yet, but I already know that in the not so distant future I'll be buying at least five raffle tickets. When I do, I'll post the number range here. I know this because last Sunday night, I had 4 out of 5 winning numbers in NY's Take5 (5/39 matrix) which paid me $578! So since I'm playing with NY's money, I've decided to buy at a minimum five PA Millionaire Raffle tickets. I'm sure NY's Governor Andrew Cuomo will appreciate it very much!! Doing this does take the sting out of me

Florida Lottery Holiday Millionaire Raffle
I think the $300M powerball jackpot are cannibalizing sales for the raffle.
I know it did for me. I made the trip with the original intention of getting two raffle tickets. However, I only purchased one raffle and some powerball tickets.

Florida Lottery Holiday Millionaire Raffle
Someone just posted in The PA Raffle Countdown thread that PA has sold 94,000 with 21 days to go!
So raffle tix in PA aren't selling all that well. As a player holding some tickets in that raffle, I'm thrilled! It'll be interesting to see what the Christmas week does to the ticket count. Max to be sold is 500K. Think they'll make it? G5

What if the PA Raffle Prize Structure Was Changed ?
Actually since I started or posted this thread ... I have also changed my thoughts on more lower tier prizes.
Even if some $50,000 prizes were created ... they would still be almost impossible to win anyway with a person having a few tickets out of 500,000.
Since it's almost already impossible to win a large prize with the raffle ... might as well leave things the way they currently are. There is always that one slim chance that a person might actually get lucky and win a large prize one d

PA Raffle Countdown to 500,000 ...
Looks like PA will make it, but it's going to be close. I'm estimating late afternoon on the 3rd, just hours prior to draw time, they'll sell out.
Other states, such as Delaware, have offered $10 raffle tickets, and struggled to sell them all. Ohio has extended their sales window and still might not make it. What makes the difference, beyond just population alone, is the number of readily accessible lottery terminals and player loyalty. PA has a very strong lottery - many states aren't as for

Monopoly Millionaires game
I too have tried similar. Won zilch. Needless to say, I still buy a few, but not many. Heck, the last raffle, I only bought one. 2006 sounds about right. PA Lottery even resorted to discounting the raffle tickets - don't recall the exact promotion, but it amounted to about two dollars off. Not much, but guess it made the difference, because they sold out just under the wire. PA never did that again - been 500,000 ever since.
I won't go crazy with buying lots of MMC tickets - been there, done
