Florida Fantasy 5 Predictions
It does sound really strange that you've dropped Fantasy 5 for the Powerball, as your odds are much worse than Fantasy 5, and that's even if you're only going for a 4+1 hit...which is 1 in 723,145....almost twice as bad as the odds of hitting 5 of 5 in this game.
I bought powerball quickpicks a couple times throughout the year when the jackpot grew fairly large...usually $10 or $15 worth of qps...and I only won once this year...$3 for having the correct powerball. I know that quickpicks are h

Idaho Lottery Commission approves Mega Millions
I don't know why everyone is so excited about getting Mega Millions in their state. The odds of winning the regular lotto are already bad enough. The odds of winning the Mega Millions are 176 Million to 1 against you!
I wish California had never joined the Mega Millions game. All it does is cut down on the California SuperLotto Plus game. In fact, I wish California had left the California Lotto a 6/49 game instead of adding a mega number set.
I rarely ever play Mega Millions because the od

Things i've noticed: How do you plan to get the 100 Mill mark if is only 4 to 5 times a year
I'd be very happy with 100 thousand. 100 million is the same number with more zeros......
Odds are bad even with lottos and their 10 million odds....
As somebody here once said, odds are 50/50 either I win or I don't. :-)

Working Scratch of tactics thread
I've seen them all... The line, the black L between tickets, buying even tickets, buying the first and last ticket... I've been playing instant tickets for a while and this is what I've come up with...
I've never won on a ticket number 13. I've won the most on $20 and $10; however, was lucky enough to win $100 on a $2 ticket. Usually the last ticket is a loser. (I learned this early in the game so I avoid them.) If the first ticket is a winner it's usually a break even or small prize. The $10

Jackpot Chasers
The number of winners of MM in East Tenn would be in direct proportion to the number of MM tickets bought by East Tennesseans and subject to the same odds everyone else faces in any other state.
What I'm trying to say is that we are all in the same pool. The number of winners in different states is only due to there being different numbers of tickets sold in different areas. Buying a ticket in New York doesn't make you any more likely to win than buying a ticket in Washington state. Same gam

Would you prefer to play a lottery with a big jackpot or nice odds?
Personally, I'd rather see easier odds on the big jackpot games so there would be more millionaires more often. I think the better odds would increase sales as well as the humongous jackpots do now.
The odds are too ridiculous now in an effort to draw people with the possibility of being a mega multi millionaire.
I'd rather see more winners and know my chance was better to be one of them than it is now.

America's multi-state lottery titans agree to ticket-selling partnership
YEAH THE MENTION OF $5 tickets really sounds scary. also the impossible odds. what if they raised the fee, dropped some lower prizes and kept the odds the same? sort of pull out the powerbal only l and 1+1 and stuffed that in higher tier prizes? really 1 in 200 million is prety insane odds. can they really jack it any hogher, without people just saying jack this, im playing pick 5?
not that it matters to me i live overseas, but good luck everyone, wish i was in the game to :(

Doubles don't skip 11 times ! More than 2 or 3 times a year.
Hi John !
I swear I've forgotten 75% of what I once knew about odds and probabilities. Of course people wrongly use the words Odds when they mean Probability most of the time.
Odds never change ......but probabilities do. That much I remember. LOL
Not sure..... but I'll bet we have researched this before in the Math forum .....but I wouldn't know the post subject or time we did it. I'll bet Carbob remembers.

Need some advice
Sorry KY, but I understand math well enough to know that the cost of the ticket has no direct bearing whatsoever on the odds. The odds are 15,000 to 1 regardless of the cost of the ticket (to clarify: 15,000 are being sold, and no more).
The odds of winning the MegaMillions would be 175 million to 1 regardless of how much each ticket costs, whether they are $1 each or $100 each. This is because its based on the number of combinations possible with the current format.
As for t
