Can Anyone Rig the Lottery?
yesterday for our evening draw i did a few workout and everything pointed to 714 coming out in my state. there were also 2 other possible number that might have come out so i played all three picks and they drew something completely different. no system will with certainty pick the number that will be drawn. there are too many factors involved. A random event isn't predictable. 1-1000 odds in pick 3 and 1 in 10,000 odds in pick 4. every once in a while you might get lucky and pick the right

Powerball lottery jackpot largest in 9 months
we know millions of people all of the country are buying tickets, isn't this a sign that the game is nearly impossible to win? That's just a sign that the odds are high, but the game follows the laws of probability. The lump sum went up about $11 million, which means they expect to sell about 40 million tickets. If those tickets represented 40 million of the possible combinations (they actually represent a lot less), the odds of awinner would be about 40 in 145, or about 28%. IOW, we reall

West Virginia Cash25...If only...
I usually play as I predict when ever possible. I've been predicting the WV Cash25 for about a year off and on and out of 750 lines I've only matched five once. The odds of matching five is 1:1554 so I have beat the odds but hitting six is still out of my range with odds of 1:177,100 so I would be lucky if I hit it once a year even if I was playing it all the time in real life. Several premium LP members have been testing software/system on this game by posting 50 predictions per game, but

Maryland Lottery raffle game sells fewer tickets than hoped
Including the serial numbers of unsold tickets in the drawing is fraud, and it would be possible that not a single prizes would be awarded. What would reduce the odds is awarding all of the prizes without selling all of the tickets. The only way to keep the same odds would be to award the same percentage of prizes at each level as the percentage of tickets sold. With only 2 $100,000 prizes the only way they could do that would be if they sold exactly 50% of the tickets and awarded half the pri

Odds Don't Change When Jackpot Goes UP
EXACTLY!! It's simple math. For every combination you play, you're just taking that number of combinations from the total odds. Buying two tickets DOES NOT cut the odds in half. If you want to cut the odds in half of a 150,000,000 to one lottery, buy 75,000,000 tickets.

Odds Don't Change When Jackpot Goes UP
I don't think anyone who understands statistics would believe that a $50M jackpot is easier to win than a $2M jackpot. I think that the reason so many people stand in line when it rolls over a lot is greed. For some strange, unknown reason the average person who earns $35K a year isn't as interested in or gets more excited about winning $1 million than $100 million. When more people play, the chance of someone winning goes up, but the odds don't change. If you flip a coin, the odds of gettin

Odds Don't Change When Jackpot Goes UP
I would think the odds of someone winning a Jackpot would go up if more people were playing it: If ONE person buys ONE ticket, their chances are 1 in 146 million, but if TWO people buy one ticket each, wouldn't their combined odds be 2 in 146 million ? (assuming they don't have identical numbers). So I would think the odds of 'somebody' winning the jackpot would be better with more people playing, more tickets sold ?

Michigan Post 11/20-11/26
Md is a small state....I am assuming that is why they went with 420000. Florida actually is selling 1.25 million tickets. They must be lottery players down there big time because that is double the tickets anyone else has sold. But the odds on that one are just way to high....I believe the odds are close to 1 in 10000 of winning. $20 is a lot for that odds. Usually when prices go up prizes should get easier to win. And I think the 50% payout on these $20 tickets is kinda crappy. They payo

National lottery, or 3d major game?
Why is MM useless, and why do you think that Euromillions is a lottery that works? Euromillions having the top two prize amounts is much more a function of chance than anything else. With odds of 76 million to one and tickets that cost $2.57 we should expect them to collect $196 million for every jackpot winning ticket. Compare that to MM where the odds are 176 million to one, but tickets only cost $1. For only $2.32 you coud have Euromillions odds playing MM, and it's basically the same game

Michigan Lottery starts Millionaire Raffle game
These are interesting games. I was the one the told the Michigan Lottery (sent them an e-mail) to get this game and they did. Since PA started this last year it has been a hit. Now states all over are having games like this. But did you see Florida's version. I wouldn't recommend that one. They are selling 1.25 million tickets. That is double what most states usually have but their lowest prize is $10,000 with overall odds of winning about 1 in 10,000. For a $20 ticket those odds are jus
