STRAIGHT System for Pick 3
Good for you.
What I stated applies to the general population but there are exceptions to every rule.
You should stick with what works for you so keep playing Pick 4.
In your case I think it would be a good idea to find out which are the most common formulas for Pick 4 in the Game Index in your state and once you find them .list them out.
This will require a lot of back testing in your state but it s worth the effort.
Once you have them listed (PQRU, SQTR, QTRU, etc) find out the

STRAIGHT System for Pick 3
Since I am on the subject, let me say this: why in the world would somebody who has NEVER gotten a hit playing Pick 3 even bother with Pick 4?
I talk to people all the time via email and on the phone and whenever somebody says they want to work on Pick 4 I ask them when was the last time they got a hit with Pick 3.
You know what is interesting?
Sometimes a person will say that they have never gotten a hit playing Pick 3, or that they only had a few hits.
IF that is the case, why are

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
Josephus, these are good question, but hard to answer due to the varying ideas of what success means to each player. BUDGET often plays a major part.
One Pick 3 player may play 10 combos, $5, anticipating box hits, while another plays 20 combos for $10. Our second player will feel the increased number of box hits is worth the cost. And yet a third player, will play 10 combos at $10, in hopes of a .50/box, .50/straight win.
When you deal with occasional accurate predictions, the real quest

What Does It Take To Win (Mathematically Speaking?)
In a Pick3 game paying $500 for a straight hit on a $1 bet, how many tickets would you buy without a hit before throwing in the towel and trying a different system?
It's questions like this that prove you have no idea of how people play pick-3 or understand the concept of gambling.
Over time every straight 3 digit number will be drawn and systems are designed to predict when the timing is right. There is no guarantee and that's why it's called gambling. Personally if I was going to activ

Missing, hot, cold, no show - Moe Mac System
For Pick 3 right now have not verify if it works on any other system.
I like this system the best when trying to figure out what number to pick and you can get it straight too.
Check out one week game (13 drawings) using Mid/Eve ( ex. below). It works for me! In the first position, first find who is missing, and hot. In the second position, find who is cold but hangs around some time and the no show, and in the last position, find who barely shows and cold. After you get all your numbers t

Determinism vs Randomness and Chance
Stack47,
You said,
...you will never understand that some players are winning something from the 50% the pick-3 games are paying out.
Of course there are winners! If you had really been paying attention to what I've been saying for the last 6 months, YOU might understand that because of the obscene 50% house cut, and the LOW 500/1 Jackpots, the VAST MAJORITY of Pick-3 players register a LOSS year over year!
Do yourself a favor. Either write for yourself or purchase Monte Carlo Simu
