The Odds Are The Reality
Dv, By playing more straight combinations, you are raising your chances to hit but in the pick-4 by playing only 10 combinations, it would minuscule. You are also confused about odds too. True odds are a proportion of the number of times an event will not happen to the number it will. Even if you play 1000 different combinations, they only draw one combination so the odds would be 8999 to 1. Stack

betslips odds help
That's strange, I always thought that the amount of tickets bought reduces the odds down, only by that amount bought. So for simplicity sake, if the odds were 100 to 1, and I bought 10 tickets, the odds of winning have now become 90 to 1. Not any less. No?

Roulette
Roulette - with the usual board found in the US - with 0 and 00 pockets - the odds of winning on a staright number bet is always 1::38 and the house odds are more than likely 1::36. Almost all of the other bets are structured to give the same payout percentage of 94.7%. Some European casinos eliminate the 00 , making the game payout percentage 97.3%. Seldom does any possible bet vary from these odds. gl j

Longest Period Between All Evens/Odds?
I tried to search the past archives but I couldn't locate an answer. I wanted to know what is the Longest period of time between all evens or all odd pick 3 combinations being drawn? By all evens I mean like 024,246,468, 682 or all Odds 135,357,etc. NOT counting doubles just single no-match combos. I mean like the longest period of time in the history of the pick 3 games, like whats the record. Also would like to know statistics on the longest time between triple consecutives (123,

Is it legal...
Yes it would either be a pick 3/4 lottery that is run by a private casino that is not based on any of the States lottery results. Or they could just discount combinations that have the digit 0 in them , and the player can get credit for the next draw until a combination is drawn that doesn't contain that 0 digit. It would need some fine tuning. The old odds would be changed. The casino owners would still make an absolute killing because most people will still lose. But if they thin

Sad story of the week
However, I worked with an 81 yr old woman who told me one week she changed one number in her regular set of 6. The jackpot was $15M and she got 5/6 and won a little over $5,000. I figured it was one of those I came so close stories. The odds of winning are so high, so the odds of your numbers being chosen the one night you skip or change them must be astronomical. (That said, I think the odds are the same as any other week right?) Anyway, when this lady looked in my eyes, with hers full o

Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised to $30 million
I agree on that one. There would likely be major rumors afoot by now if it were won by a pool. Keep the jackpot climbing. With the odds as bad as they are on MM, I'll let others build up the pot before I enter again. And speaking of the odds in relation to the size of the pot, I think I may enter Washington State's Quinto this week for the second time in my life. The odds are 1:2,598,960, but the cash jackpot is up to $2,110,000 for Saturday's drawing.

Why not a lottery that goes "wide"?
dvdiva Very true, but we're talking 20,000,000 (six number games), and 575,000 to one odds (5 /39) to one odds as oppossed to 176,000,000 to one odds. I'm saying just increase the potential number of winners.

maximun capacity of players....
50% of sales going to the States is no big secret, it written in their laws and clearly stated on most of their websites. On most of the states websites for PowerBall and MegaMillions it's stated that 32% of local sales goes to the jackpot pool, 18% goes to pay off the local winners of 5+0 and less and the rest goes to the states. This formula didn't change when the matrix of both games changed. The matrix was changed to increase the odds of the jackpots getting bigger before being hit. A la
