Anyone get a call recently saying they've won a brand new Cadillac Escalade? I hope it was a scam, because otherwise I lost a brand new SUV! This place called the Awards Center calls and leaves an 800 number. They've called 3 or 4 times, but so far I haven't heard from them this week. Anyway, if I really entered a contest online, why didn't they email mail? I doubt if I'd ever list my home phone number online except on a secure site. A Bethlehem woman was defrauded of nearly $20,000 throughout January after she was led to believe she'd won the Jamaican lottery.Sue Turnback, 68, said a woman calling herself Carrinne Campbell called her Jan. 4, police said. Campbell said Turnback won $2.2 million in the Jamaican lottery but had to mail $1,000 to Jamaica to process the winnings. Turnback sent the money in an international money order the same day.
