Arizona Lottery pulls second computerized drawing machine over duplicate numbers
We may contact the Arizona Lottery, however, we did find this on the Lottery Post; that which led us to think the switch date is 2007-05-02. Posted LP Topic - From the Arizona Lottery Site... Preliminary hearing rescheduled for Tommy Tipton in lottery rigging case
Investigating drawings up until Tipton's manipulations were discovered would be sensible. The only reason to investigate drawings after that date would be more security shortcomings. If they're not complete morons (a possibility I won't discount) they would have immediately stopped using any RNG that could possibly have been compromised, thereby preventing future issues. If they did that then there's no rational reason to worry about subsequent drawings on those dates. I see only two possibil

BOMBSHELL: MUSL employee might have rigged Hot Lotto computerized drawing
I've been trying to find an article that confirms that it was a QP. I think I read it somewhere, but I'm wondering if I'm just thinking that because the ticket was bought at a place called QuikTrip. Just because it's possible to manipulate the computer that draws the numbers doesn't mean it happened. Based on the info presented, it appears that the only chance he had to manipulate the computer was about 5 weeks before the drawing, so that means anything he did not only had to go undetected fo

Why do people play QP's?
Vision, you said Lottery has been around for how long? the only ones that have been able to crack it are the Lottery Officilas who taint the draws and share the wealth with other accessories to their crime Then you say: There is not portion of a Lottery drawing that is predictable...SO LONG as the drawings have all the Integrity security features in place Is it just me?! or are those two contradictory Statements?? If not! then those words you wrote are the very reason why; we c

ARKANSAS LOTTERY DRAWINGS TO BE COMPUTERIZED
I agree, and I don't actually think such a breach is intentional on the part of the people responsible for maintaining a secure drawing. But, just like we all saw yesterday with Twitter -- a service with a multi-million-dollar IT budget -- any computer system can be hacked, and it is rarely done by someone responsible for maintaining the system. ANY computer system can be hacked. There are fabulous techniques for maintaining security, but there has never been a security technique invented

Tennessee Lottery computerized drawings under suspicion again
If you're so worried about tampering why would you think that tampering isn't a good reason for doing pre-tests? You should be thrilled that they do pre-tests, and you should be asking them to do more. Anyone with a lick of sense would never do a drawing without checking the machine (whether a ball machine or a computer) first, to make sure that it is working properly as far as they can tell. Besides the (very slim) possibility of tampering, there are all sorts of things that could simply go

Lottery Post now has Extended Validation certificate
This week marked the completion of a very long, detailed process I've been going through to add an Extended Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate to Lottery Post. An EV certificate is the highest form of security currently available for Web transactions. In the case of Lottery Post, the certificate is used to secure data transmission during Log In, new user Registration, and on the Change Password page. During all of these times your password is transmitted over the Internet, so the certif
