OH Lot O'Play v PA Unlucky for Life
Ok. Cash OLY: Seriously, why do you keep doing this? It's a waste of Internet space. I've said it beore, and I'll say it again, if you don't like a game, DON'T PLAY IT!Personally, I like both games equally. I mean, PA's Lucky for Life Lotto may only pay $3000 a week for life, but that's for life, and the odds of winning that prize are better than winning. That can be either $1 million, or a lot more, depending on how long you live, and if you don't live to see the whole million, your estate

$315M Mega Millions lottery winners stay on the job
Same here. Several years ago I was part of an even larger pool because I worked for a large corp with a plant in Chicago. There were over 20 of us and we never won much and I'm assuming the odds for the IL lottery are a lot lower than Mega Money or Powerball. Obviously the more tickets that are played, the better your chances are of defeating the odds. However, saying 21 or 100 or even 200 tickets will get you closer to the jackpot when odds are 1 in 170M is still a little optimistic. (of cours

2 of 3 (8 Magic # system) - Sad Reality
I have seen many groupings of Magic eight numbers that when played boxed are guaranteed to get you 2 of the 3 winning pick 3 number as long as the combo drawn is not a double or triple digit combination. I have also seen where people have stated that your odds of winning boxed with these combos are 1 in 10 or even 1 in 8 when a nomatch number is drawn. Here is the sad reality when playing the magic 8 # systems......True Odds:Yes - any of the magic 8 number sets will guarantee you 2 of 3 in b

Lightning or Lottery?
You're more likely to be struck dead by lightning than you are to win the Lottery? WRONG!It's a commonly help folklore belief, the idea that winning the lottery is so improbable that you are more likely to be struck by lightning and killed. Here are the odds:Winning the Lottery: 14 million to one (approx)Being killed by lightning: 10 million to one (very approx)So, it would seem at first sight to be true. But it's NOT. That's because the lottery figure is based on buying a single lottery ticket

Why odds 167 and 333 in Pick 3 ?
Your welcome.I know the odds are a little confusing at first, especially when you look at the total possible boxed combinations versus the total straights. Think of it this way:120 Nomatch Boxed combos each play 6 ways (120 x 6 = 720 Total straight)90 DoubleDigit Boxed combos each play 3 ways (90 x 3 = 270 Total straight)10 Triples only played one way each (10 x 1 = 10 Total straight)120 + 90 + 10 = 220 Boxed (Note: You can't play Triples Boxed)720 + 270 + 10 = 1000 Straight Com

Will Powerball Rollover This Saturday?
True the 'odds' may be astronomical, but fortunately you only have to beat them ONCE. For me believing, and postive imaging is more than half the battle. After all if you don't believe you are going to win it, who will then?Sure it can happen regardless of any belief system, and just out of pure luck alone - but some say luck does not actually exist. But it does seem that at least 70% of the jackpots are won via quick pick, as opposed to using lottery systems. That is why I use 50/50 of each.

Straights...what is their rate of return?
Looking at the return rates for singles or 6way numbers first. When 321 hits ...... what are the odds he will return in a year as that straight? Well..... off the top of my head it would be a........ 1 in 6 chance or 16.66 % conclusion You have a 83.34 % better chance at hitting a straight if you don't play the same order again.... back to back. $ Looking at the doubles return rate. What is the chance a double will return in the same order? Well..... th

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
The model I've proposed above for the probability of exceeding Jack's jackpot is obviously unsatifying since it pretends that 6 linearly increasing jackpots would occur, whereas it is more likely that some kind of lotto fever will click in and result in non-linearity.Of course the difficulty is that we are in new territory with the new Powerball odds, so we cannot really look at the past to model prospective futures. However I did think of a model that is slightly more satisfying. PA Lottery to start Powerball ticket promotion
Based on my personal rough calculation, driven mainly by an interesting debate here, of the expected values in each of 3 cases, that is, (1) PB with no PP ($1 per ticket), (2) PB with PP but for the regular price ($2 per ticket), and (3) PB with PP but for PA state promotional price ($1.66 per ticket = $10/6), it seems that at 167M annuity 1. PA players are expected to get paid slightly higher when buying 5 tickets for the regular price of $10 and getting one free ticket, all with PP option. But

Attention ..S.C. players...
A few people from S.C. have PM'ed wanting me to post for S.C. I usually post only Georgia numbers, but this week it looks like Georgia will have a mess of doubles and maybe even a triple. I don't have a method for trips and the only thing I know about doubles is my grand-daughter likes double-bubble-yum better than the other kind.! If you play the game at state level odds, it is almost impossible to win. If you play at on-line odds you can play more numbers for the same amount payed out wit
