Pick-6 In Tennessee
I'm hearing a lot about the future of a pick-6 game in Tennessee. While a lot of people are advocatingLotto South, I think TN should go on it's own here. We should be encouraging more in-state games. Didyou see that article predicting better Powerball sales in TN after someone won there. Imagine how wella game would do if ALL the winners were from the Volunteer State. I'm thinking of some concepts for anew in-state Lotto in Tennessee. All of the following have a payout of 50%, a mimimum jackpot

A good read for my Mystical friends
Good to see there's a splinter-group of this site taking an openly metaphysical view of things. Lottery players can deny they believe in such things, they can consult their statistics, run their expensive software, but in the end, if there's not a metaphysical angle, if those numbers are simply random, the odds against winning make the lottery the stupidest possible form of gambling because of the lousy odds.Putting a lot of roll-over, statistical pseudo-scientific terminology into the equation

Mega Millions after CA joins
You have to define broken . It is true that the MA lottery website has this quote:Did you know..... Jackpots for The Big Game - Mega Millions are expected to reach up to a Mega $500 Million. And they have haven't even gone past $300 million. And with Texas added, are even more unlikely to do so. So the lottery bean counters may be disappointed, but I don't think the players or winners are disappointed in $50-$150 million. It is interesting that even before Texas was added, the lottery expect

Would you know a good bet if U-C-1
I guess I'm still answering what a good bet is, WIN D. For instance, we know doubles hit about 28-30% of the time. So if a double hits, you should be able to figure a no-match combo will hit the next day. However, as you and I both know, that percentage is an average; and you can get 2, 3, 4, 5 doubles in a row; maybe more. Therefore while I would say you can play a no-match combo after the draw that a double drops on, it is still not what I personally would call a good bet . When you are fol

Let's get the (power)ball rollin'....
Litebets27,Your prediction of a number lower than the 12 could very well be correct. I saw many odds-on favorites beaten when I used to play horses. The interpretation of odds can be a tricky thing. Even though the odds against a lower number than 12 hitting are roughly 3 to 1, that simply means that on average a lower number than 12 will be drawn one out of four times. Since hypersoniq has pointed out that the higher numbers have followed the 12 in the three instances in the history of the cur

Noob looking for help
Quote: Originally posted by ty21860 on January 18, 2005Hey guys i'm kinda of a noob to this site so forgive me if I say something wrong or get on anyone's nerves. I was just wondering what kind of systems anyone used to help them with lottery. I 've been on a couple different sites and used a couple of different programs. I found the programs don't really work at all by just researching the website and comparing # outputs. I did find some pretty cool wheels on a website but I hear that the w

Standard deviation of lotto sets
Bertil -hyperdimension's math is based on probability, not possibility. If a lottery is completely random in its generation of tickets, and if there are 13,983,816 possibilities and the same number of tickets are sold, it is almost a mathematical certainty that all the tickets sold will not cover all the possibilities in the lottery. The odds of that happening far exceed the chances of winning. When the first ticket is sold, it is unique - there is no other ticket currently in that lottery with t

The Lottery Book
Quote: Originally posted by BobP on December 9, 2004I found the promotion for the book loaded with mis-information. What part did you find worth the price of the book? I wonder why he thinks strategies are worthless. Personally I think that's totally stupid. I agree no strategy can guarantee a jackpot, but there are certainly smarter ways to play so you're not throwing away your money in a manner that makes winning virtually impossible.Simply not including the winning numbers from the previous

My Made-Up State's Lottery
Thanks for all the nice comments. I don't know if I'd like to actually work for a lottery, then I couldn't play. But anyway, here's another game description. What's your fantasy? A Bentley? A trip around the world? A house? Fantasy 5 can make that happen. Jackpots start at $200,000, and have reached almost $2 million. No other pick 5 game in the country comes close. And the lower tier payouts are also good. So Fantasy 5 isn't just big, it's Ginormus(R)!Just pick 5 numbers from 49, or have the Dre

Hmmm, law of averages perhaps ?
Thanks for the reply johnph77Just like to ask your advice on what i term negative logic if i may ?Given that the organisers are obviously doing their level best to counter any trends that might begin to appear, if i have identified that the average gap between occurances of number 'x' is larger than 49, is it right to assume that in future draws the gap will be less than average simply in order to return the 'x' gap average back to 49 ? Or should i highlight this as a trend and calculate based o
