Numbers for Fri. 1/16
Now for something completely different...This is for my friends who actually pay attention to my daily drivel.I'm working on a pairs concept for those states that offer front and back pair betting (not split-pair). After all, it is the simplest P-3 game with 100-1 odds and offers the same payout-to-odds ratio.....i.e., the very best payout to odds ratio that any state lottery game has to offer. Also it can be a good way to catch a straight if you want to play three digits. Here's how to use the

Numeric frequency theories do not apply
At this point, I don't know enough about the big games to ever attempt any sort of system. I play on occasion but don't attempt to overcome its complexity. At this point, I believe there is already too much to overcome with simple pick-3 games, much less the big games. Don't we agree that the first breakthroughs will come at this level? This is where I have begun. Trying to learn to walk before we run. Even at the Pick-3 level, the odds and payoffs are such that you feel like you're forced to

Numeric frequency theories do not apply
Quote: Originally posted by damo87 on November 22, 2003 Numeric Frequency Theories don't apply! I am surprised at the number of numeric frequency theories that are suggested through this discussion board. I am no mathematician, but anyone with even a slight understanding of probability would know that these theories do not apply to random draws, such as lottery numbers. Each number has exactly the same chance of being drawn if it has been drawn 1000 times or only 10 times before.................

Mega Millions Jackpot Statistics
maybe they were off by a zero or forgot the decimal point in their adds what they really meant was a cash value from 8 to 50 million not 80-500.the biggest problem with mega is there are too many people live in the mega area and its going to get worse with texas. i predict the pots will get even lower because of this. remember that the big game excluded ohio, new york and washington state (though wa. is kind of small) and now adding texas is really bad. even though the odds are bad at 180 millio

What’s with this Xtra?
I think this is why the guy from Kentucky sued the Kentucky State Lottery. He felt exactly the same way. In the brochures for the game it says that all the numbers below your numbers are randomly generated. Truth is they couldn't be or else the odds would be a lot better. The chances of winning are based on the odds that there will be so many winners in so many tickets. These are predetermined and every so many tickets a winner will pop out. I mean there are big winners out there.....but w

New Minnesota Lottery Game: Northstar Cash
At 6 a.m. this morning, the Minnesota State Lottery launched the Lottery's newest Minnesota only, daily all-cash lotto game called Northstar Cash. For $1 players select five numbers from 1 to 31 for a chance to win Northstar Cash's jackpot that will start at $25,000 and grow until it is won. Players can purchase up to 14 draws at one time. Northstar Cash fits well within our Online Game lineup, Lottery Director George Andersen said of the game. We think it will be popular with Lottery players

Why does the jackpot rise more slowly now
when a big jackpot gets won and is in the news then it results in higher jumps in the next few drawings but a lot of people (like me) just dont want to play for the small jackpots being offered considering how bad the odds are. there are only 2 ways to go in a lottery for sales one is to have a lottery with good odds like 1:3.5 million and have prizes around 10 million when won or second have a lottery with terrible odds like 1:120+ million and have really fantastic prizes like 300 million like

Question for you math pros...

We can define a sub-set of n favorable elements, where n is less than or equal to N. Probability is defined as the rapport of the favorable cases over total cases, or calculated as: np = ----- N~~~~~~~~~~~~~ n would equal your tickets purchased, provided they're of different combinations, and N would equal the total number

should megamillions change the rules
I dont mind the prize amount on the Mega Millions myself, the amount of prizes for just $1.00 to spend is pretty good if you ask me. If you happen to win from $1.00 you can win $175,000, some people dont even make that in a year. If I won with just $1.00, Ill be happy with any prize amount.I dont understand why anyone would want the game to change, its not going to make the game easier to win, nor is it going to lower the odds of the game. With 10 states involved 11 now, the odds will still be h
