$500 MILLION: Powerball jackpot explodes in ticket-buying frenzy
If its not won tonight it will hit 1 billion for next Saturday's draw will all the press attention.
I don't want to see any glee posts either from the people that were against the odds moving from 1 in 175 million up to 1 in 192 million. You can't have it both ways. Since moving the odds up was such a rip off according to so many of the posters back when they instituted the change stay consistent and don't buy a ticket now.
As for me i was for an even bigger increase in the odds to 1 in 40

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
Only ~6 days remaining, and still no ticket countdown on the website (they say it's shown in the app, but not seeing on Android). I understand why PA Lottery is downplaying the countdown due to lousy sales. However, at this point, a widely publicized countdown can't hurt, and would likely will help drive some sales.
For those seeking to game this, don't bet the ranch, because it's still likely around 400,000 tickets will sell. Still an improvement on the odds, but not significantly. Keep in m

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
All true about too many lottery games ... I think the decision to add a two number game was crazy. Why waste precious dollars on that dopey game for such a small return?
Yes, the Cash 5 had odds of 1:575,757 with 39 numbers and now it is 1:962,598 with 43 numbers. I hardly play unless the jackpot is $600,000 or higher and I might not even play that anymore.
That's why I have dropped most all the games for the Raffle game ... I still throw some dollars on Treasure Hunt but I hardly win anyt

PA Raffle Tickets on Sale - Drawing July 11, 2015
My guess is that they will sell out. I don't know why there is such a ticket buying frenzy the last few days they're on sale, but that's something that's not unique to Pennsylvania.
The same thing happens in Connecticut with their SuperDraw raffle.
Maybe it's that 20 dollar price point that makes people hold off until the last minute. Perhaps people are reluctant to part ways with a twenty until they realize there's precious little time to participate in the raffle.
Someone asked in an

Texas: 7/1 - 7/31/2015
@ csb - here's a good one to watch for today mid-day - the 51XX pair. As I point above that FP has been out for two years!!! Very unusual and I would be very surprised if we don't see that bubble bust very shortly. Since TX doesn't have a 2 digit game and we can't play pairs in the pick 3, this is as close to the 100-1 odds as we are going to get!
I'm going to start paying a little more attention to this subset of this game. Keep in mind that your chances of hitting a straight 3 number combo

Powerball Matrix Change - April 15, 2015
It actually makes sense
I'm sure it makes sense to the kind of thinkers who came up with MMC and the previous powerball failure with odds in the 1:250 million range. Of course that's not surprising when their overlords insist that income always has to increase. The reality is that they can't offer significant lower tier prizes with decent odds of winning and still generate huge jackpots in a reasonable amount of time.
I'm sure that every player is happy when they win their money back or

Arizona $20 Scratcher Odds Scrutiny
These odds seem suspect (reversed):
https://lottery.az.gov/185-million-cash-explosion-950
$2,500,000
2,000,000
$100,000
4,000,000
An email response from the Arizona lottery stated they did verify the odds are correct. Very unusual!

How did you do in the Lottery in 2014?
Anybody can make a bold claim, but yours is pretty bold. How much did you win/lose/play in 2013 and 2012?
If you were playing WA Match 4 the odds of getting 49 hits in the number of trials suggested by your expenditures are so incalculable that it is impossible. Even more than 16 wins (32.7% of implied claimed 49 hits) has odds of nearly 1 in 400 billion. There's a 99.99% probability of having fewer than 8 wins.
If you were playing a traditional Pick 4 elsewhere which has top prize of $5K
