Yes, I do that quite often, and sometimes post the table here.

Actually, you calculate the total number of tickets printed from the top prize odds:
19 * 1,200,000 = 22,800,000
From there, you can get a more precise 1 in 3.502 overall odds, and do other analysis.
The overall odds really don't change much as the game progresses. I've seen a bunch of websites and tools that regularly pull the prize claims d

Feeling a bit down..
Lately, things haven't been going my way. I graduated from college in December 2012 and have spent this entire year looking for full-time employment. Finally got an opportunity to begin training at a company for a full-time position at the beginning of December of this year. I have been playing jackpot lottery games for 6 years now and have won no more than $5 on Powerball/ Mega Millions at most 5 or 6 times in all that time. I put some effort into developing strategies that never work, and have

Beware Of The Halloween Millions (Millionaire) Raffle!
My curiosity was peaked when I reviewed the payouts for the upcoming INDIANA HALLOWEEN MILLIONAIRE RAFFLE. A minimum of 2 $1,000,000 prizes will be awarded nationally, and one $50,000 prize awarded to each state that does not have a $1,000,000 winner. Tickets are $10 each. Odds are based on number of tickets sold, however odds cannot be given because there is not a limit on the number of raffle tickets that can be sold! WHAT? Doesn't a raffle usually consist of a set number of tickets, thus know

Texas Alert: All Or Nothing Players...
Well, I look at it this way .... The Texas Two Step is 1:1,832,600 odds vs All or Nothing which is 1:2,704,156 to hit the jackpot.... The Two Step starts out at $200,000 and can get as high as $1,000,000 on the same odds for $1 play. I stopped playing the All or Nothing game because of the $2 price point and the high odds that stays at $250,000 for the top prize.
Just to break even on a $2 bet, you have to battle 1:11 odds.
On the Cash 5 game, you bet a $1 and you have a 1:9 chance t

LottoNick56's Blog Entry - "Your Dream is Another's Reality"
On any given day, many of us wake in the morning, get ready for work, sit in the morning traffic, and for what? To work at a job we cannot stand to work at any longer and wish we had the means to just quit whenever we felt like it. Well, for most that will never be a reality, at least until we're well into our 60s or even 70s years of age. However, we dream of this situation where we can quit our jobs, move to a new place, buy a new home, get a new shiny car, help others, and bring rejuvenation

Which lotto would you choose with $2.00? [POLL]
Suppose you only have $2.00 to spare for this week's lotteries and you wanted to play a jackpot game but you could only pick 1 or 2 of them to play. Also, in this example you live in Florida and only have these to choose from, so here are your choices:
1. Powerball (Nationwide) $2.00 per line -- $40 million jackpot (Odds: 1 in 175,223,510)
2. Mega Millions (Nationwide) $1.00 per line -- $30 million jackpot (Odds: 1 in 175,711,536)
3. Florida Lotto (Florida Only) $1.00 per line -- $15

Since when are the odds against less than the payout?

is anyone making an income from lottery
Boney said I say that no betting system outperforms the house edge. and if the pick-3 house edge is calculated as the difference between the odds against winning and the payoff odds, the house edge is about 50%. I'm assuming that means over time or a large number of pick-3 wagers and 338,339 is a large amount of wagers. If the house edge is 50%, a 73.72% win ratio does outperform the house edge.
My contention is the house edge is what the house should expect to win over a long period of time

TX Lotto players - Lottery Commission's sneaky rule change
I see a trend with what TLC is doing here. They introduced a game called All or Nothing, which costs $2 to play and gives a player overall odds of 1 in 4.5.
They just changed Texas Lotto. A player can still play for $1 with overall odds of 1 in 71.1, or play $2 with overall odds of 1 in 7.9.
They are trying to increase revenue with $2 tickets, and at the same time have games with better overall odds.
Case in point... Saturday I played 30 numbers in 5 lines on Texas Lotto (6/54). I had 5

Powerball
Based on the # of winners reported on the Powerball website (not including powerplay winners) the estimated # of total tickets sold was 38,607,935.
The probability that no one won the jackpot was 80%. ((175,223,510 - 1)/175,223,510)^38,607,935. (Odds of winning Powerball 1 in 175,223,510).
Let's say the # of ticket sales increases 10% for the next draw (more interest due to very large jackpot) the odds that NO ONE wins is 78.5%.
The Powerball would have to sell over 120 Million tickets
