PA Raffle Countdown to 500,000 ...
I have been wondering for several years if the PA Lottery really does sell out all the raffle tickets ... it's a nice claim that the tickets always sell out and maybe they always do completely sell out.
Something happened exactly one year ago with the raffle and I will go into detail shortly ... I have a theory that maybe as the raffle is getting close to the drawing date and many tickets are still left to be sold ... the lottery continues to sell tickets but also runs tickets or the raffl

N.M. Lottery approves raffle, ends game, and hires new vendor
The New Mexico Lottery's board of directors was busy yesterday, approving a new raffle-style game for later this year, canceling the unique 4 this way 4-digit game, and ending an 11-year relationship with its current equipment and services vendor.
Finishing a two-year process to analyze its business needs, identify revenue growth opportunities and evaluate vendor capabilities, the New Mexico Lottery yesterday selected Intralot to provide a computerized gaming system, communications network

Georgia couple wins $1 million lottery raffle prize
Jim Fain couldn't believe his eyes.
His wife, Tina Beckham-Fain, sat on the floor of their Milledgeville home reading the number on the first of five lottery tickets they bought for the Millionaire Raffle as he looked at the winning combination on the Georgia Lottery Web site.
Beckham-Fain read 285704.
Unsure of what he was seeing on his computer, Fain then asked her to read the screen.
She did and the numbers matched.
I started to hyperventilate, said Fain, a 42-year-old corpor

New Florida Raffle
Let's say the odds 'sound better'. The lotery being the bookie in this case, these raffles are a bookie's wet dream .
This is the way Illinois' raffle worked:
$10 ticket, 500,000 tickets had to be sold, which they were.
A total of 509 prized paid out. I think it was 4 for $1,000,000, 5 for $100,000 and 500 for $1,000.
Take a good look:
500,000 entries
- 509 winners

Florida Fantasy-5 Players
Not that anybody cares, but I thought I'd share my thoughts on playing PowerBall.
I don't play the game very often because the odds are ridiculous. I'd rather play a lottery game that players actually have a decent shot at winning. All lottery games carry very long odds so I prefer to get some bang for my lottery playing buck. While I was living in New York, I lived fairly close to The Pennsylvania border so I used to play The annual Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle. The odds were 125,000 to

An Interesting Raffle Question
Going back to the question: How many drawn raffle numbers on average does it take to win a prize?
Reverse raffles are becoming excellent fund raisers and usually 100 tickets are sold for pre ticket price usually starting at $10. And depending on the cause, ticket prices of over $50 are not unusual. The concept is specific prizes are awarded for the first number drawn and usually every 5 or 10 drawings until five tickets remain. The last five usually make a deal to split the grand prize, but

Question Regarding The Odds of The Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle
Hopefully someone smarter than I can answer a question regarding the odds for the Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle and help to settle an argument at the same time.
A little background. Yesterday at work, the members of the pool that I run for the PA Millionaire Raffle were discussing the latest raffle. Someone said The odds are 125,000 to 1 to which another person replied No they're not. Not really And that's when the argument got started.
Assuming all 500,000 tickets are sold, why are the

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
All true about too many lottery games ... I think the decision to add a two number game was crazy. Why waste precious dollars on that dopey game for such a small return?
Yes, the Cash 5 had odds of 1:575,757 with 39 numbers and now it is 1:962,598 with 43 numbers. I hardly play unless the jackpot is $600,000 or higher and I might not even play that anymore.
That's why I have dropped most all the games for the Raffle game ... I still throw some dollars on Treasure Hunt but I hardly win anyt
