Thanks for the welcome!
I personally played 10 at a time a week for $3/$5/$10 in hopes to see at least a winning ticket, there have been a few times I lost on all 10. I use the winners to fund the following week's purchase, which usually covers about 40-60% or a $50/$100 win will mean the next play set is free. Took a hiatus until now. I saw many $500 wins posted from $20 scratchers on the other state threads so thats where I have a better feeling.
But since its $20 now, I will probably bu

Can Anyone Beat the ODDS ?
Pick 3..... Using a 365 draw Game.
The odds say..... If you want to hit at least one single Box number//// ONE TIME per Week....... you should play at least 25/30 plays per game.
That's 210 plays per week. This ONE HIT per week would be the NORMAL expected hit rate ....using around 30 plays per game.
If you think you can do better than normal ........and that you are the one that does better than once a week here ya go.

Post your scratch ticket results
Yes, pools are groupings of sets of ticket books.
There is an easier way of calculating how many total tickets were printed for a game. As long as you know the number of a certain prize and the odds of that certain prize winning, you can calculate the number of tickets printed:
(# of a particular prize in a game) * (the odds of that particular prize winning)
For example (we will use the top prize since most lottery websites, like Florida's, give the number of top prizes):

Why do people give away their lottery system?
The way to increase your odds and possibly win the lottery is that you have to pick your numbers like you always do, the ones you think have the most probability of showing then throw those numbers away and pick all the numbers you didnt pick. And play those instead. You will increase your odds by 50%
Heres why? If you ever noticed the numbers that show are always numbers that you didnt play or numbers that you thought about playing but didnt, or numbers you had a hunch about but shook it off

Do some number combinations have better odds?
winkle23
I will take a shot at this, with 28 numbers you have a possible 98,280 possible 5 number combinations.
If the winning 5 are somewhere in these 28 your odds for a 5of5 would be 1 in 98,280. If you play 41
lines then your odds for a 5of5 are 1 in 2397. Each set of 5 numbers has 10 possible combinations of 2
and there are 378 combinations of 2 in 28. Since each 5 number set has 10 combos of 2 then we can divide
378/10 =37.8 so odds for a 2 of 5 match will be 1 in 37.8 for e

Odds of Winning vs. Chances of Winning.
Case in point - Michigan Classic Lotto 47 - Drawing by Computer Random Number Generater. Drawings to date -(07/07/12) = 745 drawings. If you do Quick Picks, these are also your chances of winning.
Odds of Winning
6 of 6 1 : 10,737,573
5 of 6 1 : 43,649
4 of 6 1 : 873
3 of 6 1 : 50
I perfer to improve my chances of winning by analizing my Combos Patterns which I just posted in My Blog for the Michigan Classic Lotto. Out of the 745 drawings to date, I have found 41

Odds on Misinformation
You've just explained why your point it moot.
You suggest breaking the entire matrix into two subsets.
Set one being consecutive sequence combinations/permutations.
Set two being non-consecutive sequence combinations/permutations.
At this point you defeat the purpose of deriving the subsets by stating the odds of the overall matrix.
Like RJOh and CT have both stated, once you divide the matrix into a large pool (non-consecutive), and a small pool (consecutive sequence) the odds ch
