Where oh where do you think the odds come from? They come from The Number of Combinations that could be drawn. You are at a point where your attempts to prove yourself right are hinting at insanity. A lottery player plays one set of numbers, thus out of all the possible combinations that might be drawn to determine a winner they have ONE of them. The player plays one more set of numbers so out of all the combinations that can be drawn to determine a winner the player has played TWO of them. What

Probability of winning with multiple tickets
Each individual ticket is 1:x. But a person with two tickets has the odds of 2:x. Or 1: whatever number is half of x.

Tucker gave you a formula to calculate the odds. You are not using the formula in your explanation. Reread Tucker's explanation.

There is no $25 that can win $5000. 20 sets of numbers on a 5/45 game means every set of numbers is up against the same odds. So you have something to do with marketing and are maybe a host in slots. You definitely put a promotional spin on things. For your own info; stiff, a player who never tips, George, a tipper, comes from 'Generous George'.......at dealers parties whether a player is stiff or George can be very long conversations. Some Vegas lingo for you; Minnesota junket, two or more play

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
They have to make these games way harder if they want to survive. 1 in 300 million odds is a joke. It should be 1 in 500 trillion at least. Even then it would still be way too easy to win for some.

Heads up for users of the PA lottery mobile app.
Sometimes I read the posts where people say the lottery is crooked and stacking the deck. It's easy to say no they don't need to do that, the odds are high enough in the games to keep them from needing to put their thumb on the scale. And then PA turns around and does something in their app that certainly appears to have zero benefit to the user, makes it harder for the casual user to benefit from it, and as hypersoniq and Justing618 said seems to be nothing but shady. Disappointing to be sure.

Any Millionaire for Life Winners?
I only play once a week on Sunday. The jackpot is enticing, the odds are not so bad, it's only the price that is not encouraging.

Arizona lottery retailer employee sued after buying $12.8 million ticket knowing it was a winner
Returned tickets have odds that are just as crummy as any other lottery tickets, so I wouldn't buy them just because they were returned (printed by mistake or the would-be player didn't have enough money). What retailers should do, like any retailer with excess merchandise, is offer them at 50% off. I'll buy them.
