Minn. store clerk accused of "micro-scratching" lottery tickets
What began as a complaint from a lottery customer about the loss of $15 led to an undercover operation and eventually the arrest of a store clerk for lottery fraud. A man told the Minnesota State Lottery he'd bought a scratch ticket at the Casablanca Market in Hopkins. He scratched it and found he'd won $15. But, when he took the ticket to the Lottery booth at the Minnesota State Fair, he was told the ticket had already been redeemed. Lottery Security checked the records they had from C

Welfare & Jackpot Lottery Winners
I see so much welfare abuse ... Go to casinos and see the visa / credit/ debit $$ get withdrawn from the free $$ bank... There are people that live in other countries that make one trip a year to the states to make their appointment then to bank machine to w/d their yearly funds then jet back to where they come from... If the govt would make a person come in pick up their free $$ monthly using their fingerprint every state would see less fraud.. If you win lottery $$ then you should have to pay

West Virginia Lottery rule change raises safety issue
If you've been robed a dozen or more times, then it's time to hire armed 24/7 security. Although, I would bet that the money that has been stolen is FAR less than the cost of hightened security which is why it hasn't been implemented yet. Context really does matter here. I would invest in HD surveilence with audio and get in good with the cops. That or change how you operate so there is less to steal. Pulling out a gun and going head to head with these people is likely only going to get bysta

Illegal alien faces deportation after threatening his boss over lottery prize
I learned something new today. I didn't think an illegal person could claim a lottery prize. Since I've always heard that lottery officials will search by your social security number to find out if you owe any Student Loans, Back Taxex, Child Support, etc. Question: Does someone with a green card have a social security number or other number used for tax purposes? How then does someone without any number claim winnings? In this case of the Boss claiming the winning ticket for himself, I thin

$2M Michigan lottery winner defends use of food stamps
Once one wins millions of dollars net via a lottery prize, I would hope that they would contact their county, state, or federal office to stop receiving DIASABILITY AID payments ... even if they are elegable to continue receiving. In regards to SOCIAL SECURITY payments. I think the net multi-million dollar lottery winning person should be allowed to cease them. Since winner, by now, has realized that the U.S.A. country's current youngest workers that are paying towards this will not be receiv

Fixed text editor problem for IE6 and IE7
I use the enterprise-level stuff on my servers (called Forefront Endpoint Protection), and it uses the same engine as the free Security Essentials software. The difference is the ability to control a bunch of servers across a domain, as opposed to the free stuff which can only be managed on each individual PC. But the fact that Security Essentials is the same exact malware protection as the enterprise software ensures that you have great protection on the PC, and it does not steal a lot of CP

Ottawa man claims $25M Lotto Max prize
Not sure if you care, yet the public use scanner can't print that. Instead, for security reasons (people standing behind you) it indicates you are to see cashier. But why do it that way, because now the clerk can research who you are and tell reporters your name to run in their newspapers! Yet, another reason why it is important to check your tickets only via a pc, checking phone #, or newspaper. Then you don't go to a public store. After all, they wouldn't be able to pay you out of their ti

Lottery scam victim, 78, becomes scammer, swindles friends
My 2 Nigerian emails made it a lot easier. All they needed was my bank account numbers to deposit my 6 million dollars and my credit card numbers for the small transaction security fee and my social security number and mother's maiden name to make sure I was who I said I was. It wasn't from a lottery win but just a deposed African King needed to get his money out of the country quickly and decided my bank account would be the best place for it and would pay me 6 million for letting him put it

Have you won a jackpot?
If you have won a jackpot or very large amount, how has it changed your life? When I read about successful people, I think is it good they have financial security, but I would not want the fame. An example is Susan Boyle, the woman who won a talent show in the UK, I am happy she was discovered and she can sing, but the low-life sections of the media are very cruel to her. Also, she is so famous it must be difficult for her to go about as normal. Yes, I would like to have financi
