Between August 2012 and July 2014, Cooper and fellow dealer Mark M. Branco

US woman convicted in Jamaican lottery scam to remain jailed
A federal judge in North Dakota on Monday ordered a Rhode Island woman convicted of funnelling lottery scam money between the US and Jamaica to remain jailed pending a February sentencing hearing, where she could face a stiffer sentence than the alleged mastermind.
Her hands were all over the conspiracy that authorities said bilked at least 90 mostly elderly Americans out of more than $5.7 million, US District Judge Daniel Hovland said at the end of a contentious detention hearing in which M

Did anyone actually fall for it?
I just suspended the membership of someone who posted info about one of those syndicate lottery sites run by the pyramid scheme, VWD (Virtual World Direct).
Check this out: minutes before the person I got rid of posted that message on the forums, their previous Lottery Post account was automatically suspended by the Lottery Post server when they tried to post a link.
That person previously used that account to respond to a warning thread that I had posted a few weeks ago about VWD. The

Police warn of foreign lottery scheme
A new twist on an old scam has bilked some Enid, Oklahoma, residents out of $2,500 to $8,500, police said.
Enid Police Department Detective Mike Riley said he's received three or four calls a day for the last couple of weeks concerning this particular scam.
Some are notified by mail they have won a foreign lottery, such as the Australian, Canadian, Portuguese or United Kingdom lotteries, and are told someone will stop by to collect money to cover insurance and handling costs, Riley said. T

Lottery scammers steal $1.2 million from one victim
I fell victim to a similar scam back in 2004.
I lost around $4600.00.
It was the Nigerian lottery scam for $7 Million, which I foolishly believed to be real.
Goes to show that knowledge helps to avoid being a scam victim.
What surprised me was the fact they wanted $92K for the wire transfer.
Then they changed their fee to $10K.
Never again.
