CARBOB, Benford's Law is very useful for certain applications, especially accounting. The problem with using Benford's formula to look for fraud in the lottery is that it was derived by fitting to real life non uniform data. Here's a site that analyzed it relative to many different data sources. Note how lottery results fit. http://www.physorg.com/news98015219.html You might want to look again at my analysis of PA's Pick-3 results earlier in this thread. You'll see how just about any ki

MADDOG'S Powerball Challenges (The Details)
RJOh, The way the conversation had been going I thought it was to prove system players were shooting themselves in the foot by picking their own numbers rather than buying QPs. This is a myth that 1 person here keeps trying to propagate. This same person even recently claimed I didn't want SPs to even be allowed! In one of my early posts I detailed my opinion on QPs vs Sps. In general, it doesn't matter. Over long periods of time, SP players will do no better or worse than QP players. Si

Pick 3 progressive adding system
First make a list of your mid on the left column, and the eve to the right. In my backtest, it worked better by adding mid to eve to mid...etc... You'll be adding each winner to the next and so on. You'll need a calculator because we are NOT using Lottery Math. Example: Florida: Mid------Eve Saturday July 31 -........887-------818.......................887+818=1705.......170-705 Once you do this, look for those 2 combos for at least the next 5 consecutive draws. In my te

What's with NY Sweet Million??
When I pick my own numbers with a system and the system fails on that draw, that I am screwed on all the lines I picked, like on Monday when four numbers in the 30's came out, I would have never picked so many numbers in the 30's, and I would have lost, but on Monday my QP lost anyway, I wasn't a winner like my Mom, so my system (if I picked my own on Mon.) and the QP system failed me on Monday, but I could try my system on one or two lines going forward, as you suggested, and I wouldn't get hur

Another System Test I'm in the middle of writing a more complex version of my backtester, one that hopefully will be accepted as truly showing the performance of a bonafide System that has claims of success. In the meantime, since my current backtester version is so easily adapted to simple pattern matching, and recent events on the site gave me such a great idea for a new pattern to test, I decided to test it and post the results. Then I'll get back to the new Backtester. My NEW idea is s

TTT- an old one but still plenty of hits amonth
New Mexico only has one pick 3 draw a day. So, using your system I use 009 which hit on August 2 and 460 which hit on August 3rd. Calculating 009 + 011+110 = 120. I then add back to 009 and come up with 129. For the August 3rd draw i calculate 460 = 011=110 = 581. 129 460 581 Is this correct??? Can anyone else reading this post verify this?

I can't envision anyone making a profit playing a pick 3 with quick-picks. Maybe you or jimmy4164 can run a simulation of playing one QP ($1.00) daily over the same PA data? I'd like to see how many runs it takes to produce just one run with a profit. I am not picky about how much of a profit - it can be a profit of $1 over the 33 years. I think your 4000 systems is a lot! Are you going to leak any clue as to what the basic system was? I also feel entirely different than jimmy4164 - beating

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
VisionDude, I too am trying to get someone to declare their confidence in a system by providing a system specification that I can Backtest to prove or disprove its eficacy. I also want them to ASSERT, up front, that they believe it will turn a profit over many years. However, I'm running into what appear to be road blocks. In this post, possibly the most important component of the System is about as vague as it can be. I'm trying to get a clear and complete specification of this system so tha

Quantum Physics affecting the lottery?
RJOh, I would guess most states are doing as you describe, which is good. What I'm more concerned about are the computer generated results. If the winning Draws are truly random, it doesn't matter much how the tickets are generated. I only seed my RNG (A Pseudo Random Sequencer) once at the beginning of a run, but I call it internally a random number of times using the system clock (as you suggested above) before returning the current RN to the calling program. Have you checked out my late

Pick-3 Florida Prediction Forum transfer of discussion
Laverne, I really like the part about MAIN SUB-SYSTEMS here. For me, the MAIN system produces the absolute best hit for a given set of parameters and yields the best profit from it. The SUB-SYSTEM is my back up in case I just can't find what I need and still allows me to at least get something out of a reasonable. Hey, I don't turn down any money when I see it. This game is a lot like Football in that most plays are just basic due to the general set up of it while other plays need to be custo
