Three men charged with stealing $1M from lottery winner
I believe Destined is correct about the individual and joint accounts, because FDIC insurance is for each depositor and Bob Smith and Sue Smith are a different depositor than Bob Smith or Sue Smith . Destined is incorrect about insurance on trust accounts. For each owner there is 100k of insurance for each beneficiary. If a husband and wife have a trust account with 3 children as beneficiaries there is 600k of insurance coverage.
The explanations I've seen explain coverage for different categ

Not all Retailers Pay Out to $599
To give an update to everyone, I did call the CA lottery about this situation. I first talked to a CA Lottery rep and told her my problem, and she didn't seem to care to much, but she did offer me a chance to complain if I wanted, and I wanted. So she transfered me to security.
Security was awesome, I told her my situation, and the stores I went to, she explained that if a store can't pay a ticket they should be making arrangements with the winner for when they can cash the ticket, say later

need some advice-antivirus
I realize that about the MAC address Todd, which is why I said that router security measures along with software measures and safe surfing make a good combination.
If a hacker could get into your computer/network, he or she could deposit malicious software (trojan, virus) onto your computer or obtain information on your computer without your knowledge. Then you may have a virus or some other issue to deal with. If such router security ability exists, one would want to lock out intruders vi

Info On RNG'S
My preference for plastic ball drawings is merely for security reasons. Do I think computers, when programmed appropriately, can generate numbers that are random enough to humans? Yes I do. Plastic ball drawings take full advantage of science, primarily physics. So basically plastic ball drawings work on a scientific level of randomization. The human brain however can only view results generated by a randomization process up to a certain point. There are a lot of things that can be used in a

Players warned lottery about tickets flaw
OK...let's let their own words prove the truth of the statement:
First from the Tennessee Lottery:
Hargrove said a programmer for the vendor, New Jersey based Smartplay International Inc., made a keystroke error when setting the parameters for Cash 3 and Cash 4, typing a u for unique instead of an r for repeat.
Next from a second vendor who conducted the security tests...NOT Smartplay:
James Maida, president of Gaming Laboratories, said the flaw was hidden in 1,400 lines of co

Hackers & the lottery...
There is a bit of difference between a hacker and a Lotto guru. Hackers are good at writing code and figuring out ways around security methods, part of it being social engineering (i.e calling a company and impersonating someone to get inside information). It is a lot easier to read people and get around security systems because those are not as random as a Lottery is. In Hacking you're trying to reverse engineer what already happened and in Lottery you're trying to predict the future, the harde

N.J. man hits jackpot: He's engaged to lottery winners' daughter
I'm wondering if that's the only thing a person can do to keep curious neighbors and other nuisances away. They are trying to provide some kind of security for themselves, and then someone announces to the press that they don't even have a dog.
Questioning the neighbors is something the media has been doing a lot lately. You read about a murder or an arrest and then see a neighbor being interviewed on the 6:00 news. Most of them probably never met the people, but they always have an opin

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"?
There could be psychic ppl who has already successfully predict and win the lottery in the past...but did not want to advertise or stay low profile because of security reasons. If I'm a psychic who can predict the lottery accurately, surely I don't want other ppl to know because of security reason. For example, some crazy ppl might kidnap me or a member of my family and demand me money/predictions knowing that I can generate future incomes from lottery winnings.
Personally I believe a human b

Do you think they would make a new lottery movie...
Or they can make a movie about a small kid (or an adult) that is so dangerous that he can't only win the lottery but he can crack anything with an RnG on it..LIke a smart genius that has studied mathematics or has spent time trying to figuring out the seeds of many RnG's thus been able to win the lottery (computerized drawings) and anything like banks security systems that use alarms based on a RnG, (like decriptions) Pentagon alarms, CIA, FBI, etc...A guy like this would be more dangerous than

anyone thought of this:ScratchOffs Syndicate
Locally an independent gas station ran a fish bowl pool. Its customer would buy $1 scratch-offs, write their names on them and throw them into a fish bowl. Every Saturday there was a drawing and the person whose name was drawn from the fish bowl won 400-500 tickets. It all ended when someone caught one of the workers taking out some tickets for himself.
I've never trusted scratch-off games since I read about the Indiana lottery security person sending his friends to a store to buy a roll o
