Lottery rigging mastermind sentenced to 25 years in prison
A former lottery security chief was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Tuesday for rigging the computerized lottery drawings in several states so he could collect the jackpots.
Eddie Tipton, former security director of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), received the maximum sentence from an Iowa judge, who mentioned Tipton's greed in his sentencing.
I certainly regret my actions, Tipton told the court. It's difficult even saying that with all the people that I know behind me that

Lottery-check scams get more seductive, ingenious
By Paul Wenske
Kansas City Star
Those lousy lottery-check scams are mutating again and ensnaring more unsuspecting consumers.
But first, folks, you just shouldn't fall for these goofy scams. No honest lottery in the world gives out free money.
That said, the scams are increasing. And they offer sneaky new twists to create a false sense of security. More scams are using counterfeit checks drawn on legitimate bank accounts of real businesses.

Elderly Washington woman loses her home and $600,000 to Jamaican lottery scammer
Poor woman. There are also people far younger that fall victim to the same scams. If someone asks you for money online or via a call, it is a scam. The rare scam call that I pick up ends up with the scammer hanging up after I ask him psych related questions. What motivates you to do these scams? How was your childhood? Were you bullied in school?
I really think low self esteem , being unhappy, and living in a fantasy world has something to do with it. Years ago there was a Dateline episode

Every Lottery Player Think About This For A Second...
Virginia drew 4444 and because it was so popular, they paid out $7.9 million in winnings. I guess Virginia isn't part of the scam?
Yes, the lottery makes lots of money, but that money gets spent by the state. It does not go to lottery workers pockets. They don't benefit personally. Unless they're thieves, but that can be anywhere, including lottery retailers where they scam people who have winning tickets by lying to them. That is far more widespread than cheating by lottery workers, and you

a police officer approaches a street vendor selling acorns and asks him what he's selling. the vendor says he's selling acorns for $10 each. the police officer asks, what kind of scam is that? the vendor says, it's no scam, eating acorns boosts your iq. the police officer buys one and eats it. then he suddenly shouts, hey, why did i just pay $10 for that when i could have got one for free right under that oak tree? the vendor says, see, you're smarter already.
the police officer says, h

**NCEL - North Carolina Lottery Rigging**
FireBall Poll as of 10/10/22
So I have also been chatting with a few long time lottery buddies recently and have all said the same thing P3 P4 have done to H$LL since FB started! Many of them hae stopped playing all together because of the latest scam and according to this not even close to scientific poll over 50% say it is not worth it or they don't play it. I am right there with them and NOT spending 2x as much only to lose. Recently, I have seen a main # that I would play only to have i

Lottery scammer stole nearly $1 million from one elderly woman
At least justice was done in this case. Unfortunately, the victim will probably never see any of her money.
I don't know how people fall for this though. I have a neighbor who fell for the tech support scam and even after I told her it was a scam, she didn't believe me until they tried to take her for $5000. People don't listen even when you try to warn them.
If these scammers call me, I just hang up and block the number.
