You got to be lucky to win the jackpot in any game even a 5/39 game where odds of winning a jackpot are less than one in a million. I prefer to look at the overall odds of winning any prize since winning a small prize once in while makes chasing that elusive jackpot more entertaining.

I'm in every draw for MM, PB, and Tx Lotto. With MM and PB, yeah, I'd love to win the jackpot. But a million dollar second prize would be fine too. And that's worth it for me to keep playing. Right now the jackpot cash value for Tx Lotto is just over $4 million....odds are 1 in 25,827,165. MM $1 million second prize....odds are 1 in 18,492,204. PB $1 million second prize.....odds are 1 in 11,688,054.

I should point out that because there are THREE ticket numbers drawn in each Early Bird drawing, if they sell 84,000 for the first drawing, then the odds are not 84,000 to 1, they are 28,000 to 1. You ever seen odds that low to win 50 grand???? Me either. G5

The key here is the annuity. Then you have to see about taxes on federal and state. City is another story. Everyone gets caught up in the excitement. Why not just take a look at your state lottery? Better odds than the big boys. After someone mentioned to me because of odds I agreed with them. Powerball and mm will always do what the lotteries do but sometimes people need to think smarter and realize the repercussions.
