Don't You Find It Interesting?
No not really, they DECREASED the odds by adding balls not increased the odds. So of course it is going to be a lot harder. With more interest and the billion dollar hype even more people played, thus raising the jackpot even more and kept compounding from there both in plays and the jackpot amount. Nothing miraculous about it as 3 winners won, as finally most or all of the combinations wee bought. Also won by all who will be revealed eventually. Would have been more interesting if it went to $2

Mega Millions and Powerball both at/over $1 Billion. Your thoughts?
I found a lottery odds calculator online, and MM would only have to extend the mega balls up to 18 to have roughly the same odds as Powerball. Imagine them both at/over $1 billion. How would you play? My thoughts - I think it's a good idea. It'd be like a 2nd chance for people who didn't win the first jackpot. I wouldn't change my playing.

Powerball reaching record jackpots due to the odds just got harder?
If MM extended the mega balls up to 18, they would have roughly the same odds as Powerball.

Pick 3/4 Meter Made Math Moves
keep in mind, 6, 7 and 8 clockwise moves should happen about once every 3.333... draws. Now what is the probability that they won't occur on any single draw? 70%s What is the probability that they won't occur for 42 straight draws? 1 in (1/(.7 ** 42) = 1 in 3,205,400 But, as I pointed out before, you could use any set of 3 clockwise moves and look for a gap and there are 128 of them. Each of those 128 possibilities has the same 1 in 3,205,400 chance so the chance of an

Powerball reaching record jackpots due to the odds just got harder?
With the current odds, we can expect to see $600M jackpots once or twice a year, and $1B jackpots two or three times a decade.

The "Holy Grail"
Just for reference, per the NOAA, the chances of getting struck by lightning are approximately 1 in 1,190,000 (see www dot lightningsafety dot noaa dot gov slash odds.shtml - new member, can't post links) Therefore, you are approximately 245 times more likely to be struck by lightning this year than winning the Powerball lottery if you purchase 1 ticket. Purchase 245 tickets this year, and your odds are about equal...

PoleCat power ball pole
I would not be surprised at all if it rolls again given the harsh odds in place now.

How BAD is your "Lottery Fever" today?
I am finding it discouraging that soo many tickets have been purchased to date and no one has hit it yet...kinda brings one back to reality of just how hard it is to hit and makes me rethink how much money i am comfortable with spending on PB tickets now. I just wish they would have better the odds and payouts on smaller prizes to make up for the harsh odds now in place for the JP. I can see buying more then one line had they done that. Just glad there are other games out there that keep the hop
