Minn. store clerk accused of "micro-scratching" lottery tickets
Many states have rules regarding how many scratch tickets may be scanned without producing a winner. If you go over the limit it will block the machine out and likely cause an inquiry to the store by the lottery. This is an old scam. It amazes me how many ways dishonest people can come up with to cheat people. A C-store tried to scam me yesterday. When confronted did the no speak English routine. A good rule of thumb regarding regular lottery tickets is that if you use the customer area scanner

World's biggest lottery jackpot won by three tickets
Sirbrad is right that newcomers are being silly when they make false claims of winning in order to save face. The lies start building up, and real people can get caught into them. Get someone willing to lie about winning multi times and having a system, and you've got the makings of a scam where real people lose real money when the odds were 1 in 0 of a 'pay out'.
If someone wants to come in here and say they won the second level, by all means put a scan of the ticket up so that folks know t

Connecticut Powerball mystery deepens
Here is the truth people. Listen very carefully. I already know they will block me for telling the truth, but I have to tell the truth. According to a secret insiders, the whole lottery thing is a scam. There is no random in the lottery because they already know which numbers gonna come up. they let people when small jackpot, but when the jackpot get really high, the money go back to them. How? They will have somebody act like a winner, and they pay the person under the table. The lottery is per

Illinois lottery drama
I think there are a couple of clerks at one of the gas station where I buy lottery tickets that has been working on a scheme to scam winners in the future. The other clerks after scanning tickets return them them to customers winners and losers but these two keep them claiming it's necessary for record keeping and even throw away the losers without the customers permission.
One of the other clerks informed me that the terminal record winners that are paid automatically and they only keep t

Scratch Magic by Steve Player for Scratch Off Games
While I've never used any of Steve Player systems I thought maybe the price of his systems were justified by the amount of research he did to come up with them. The fact that players had control over what they played as much as lotteries had control over which numbers were drawn could give the players with a well thought out system an edge. With scratch-offs, lotteries control everything, the number of winners, the distributions of winners, the number of top prizes and etc and for him to suggest

Should I report this error or not?
I doubt if a clerk was pulling that scam, he would come forward unless the prize was $100K or better and if that never happened no one would ever know the scam existed.
I remember a clerk trying to keep my free QPs once when Ohio had a promotion of a free QP with each $5 ticket saying she thought the free tickets were for the clerks.
When NBC Dateline approached the NY lottery about running a program like they ran in California to catch clerks stealing customers winning lottery tickets,

Kentucky: 1/1 - 1/31/2011
haven't played since 01/01/11 - I quit the KYLottery all together. I have lost money in this game all last year, but atleast it's over now. I even gave up my prized pic 4's 1776, 7243 and 1127 which hasn't hit in any combination since 2005. But I don't care anymore since I've made money by not chasing BS numbers and this scam of a lottery system. If anyone doesn't see that the lottery is a huge scam, then hopefully, they will sonner rather than later. It's meant to target people in their 30' all

Has a Lottery Clerk Ever Attempted to Rip You Off?
I really hope more people have stories to tell about this so we can maybe somehow develop a profile of dishonest lottery clerks to look out for and their MO (modus operandi) so people can watch for common themes that might tip us off to something happening or about to happen.
Some members may have scam experiences that none of us ever considered that could educate us and make us more careful.
For instance, I never new about the expired lottery ticket scam that fronjan told us about. I'll n

Top 10 "Reasons" why the Powerball Lottery is a scam...!
POWERBALL runners win because huge jackpots are the results of many small jackpots drawings that took place, which allow them to take a cut a long the way. You can say that powerball is actually a smart players scam against players that play with 1 in 195 millions odds and jackpots below 200 millions. A smart player will wait until the jackpot had been pushed way up by those that play when is really low.
ARE YOU WILLING TO SPEND $1 FOR A 1 IN 195 MILLION CHANCE OF $20 MILLION OR 1 IN 195 MILL
