CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
Well, this stinks! I just read the new rules for second chance scratches that eliminate top prizes for post 2015 games. So, you have lousy odds to win prizes on the scratchers themselves and at best maybe a 25k top prize on a second chance scratcher also with lousy odds.
So, what do you think? Will it help or hurt sales of scratchers or limit the entry of second chance?

Now that both PB and MM have ~$40M jackpots
The odds with 2 MegaMillion tickets of winning a million dollars is 1 : 9,246,000
The odds with one Powerball ticket of winning a million dollars is still slightly better at 1 : 5,154,000

Now that both PB and MM have ~$40M jackpots
That's what I was thinking because I'd be happy with a million.
I need to check the odds again. Are odds for 2nd place better with 2 Megas than one Powerball?

I think it will level off. PB is higher wager but better odds, MM is lower wager and lower/worse odds.
They will start growing slowly, but the PB will grow faster and people will switch over when the MM jackpot is lagging behind.

Mega Millions And Powerball Jackpot Won Back To Back In New York.
I'm specifically talking about people from the US complaining that they would rather see more people win life-changing jackpot amounts more often than see one or two winners win 300mil$.
I can see both variants as attractive, but the reasoning given by the lc is always that people just don't want that , but the success off scratchers in the US seems to me to be a perfect example of people wanting better chances of winning just a few millions.
BTW in Germany the odds are horrible the 6

Now that both PB and MM have ~$40M jackpots
Now that both PB and MM are starting the week with almost identical jackpots and very similar odds of winning MUSL will get a chance to see if ticket prices really matter.
For me it does and I will only be buying MM tickets since I'll get twice as many chances for the same price and better overall odds of winning something.

friend of mine spent last night $150.00 on Mega + Powerball. Is this too much?
The odds are indeed better the more numbers you buy.
For example, did you know your odds of winning are reduced in half if you buy two tickets instead of just one?

is it better to play the Powerball or Megamillions?
Oh??? i wasn't aware of any changes in PB coming up till you said so. i just googled powerball changes april 2015 and saw the bad news and poorer odds to win the jackpot now becoming 1:285,000,000. i wonder if the minimum jackpot will increase from starting at $40million? also, what will be the new odds to win the 2nd tier million $$$ dollar prize? and with the new PB multiplier does one have to pay any extra $1 to get this multiplier $$$ benefits?
