With promise of $1.5m prize, scam artist bilks woman out of nearly $28,000
Vivian Murphy thought back to that heart-stopping moment when the voice on the phone proclaimed her the winner of a $1.5 million sweepstakes prize. For decades, Murphy, 85, had been a huge fan of Publishers Clearing House, the peddler of magazine subscriptions and household items widely known for TV commercials of winners dissolving into happy tears when presented with a gargantuan check. She entered nearly every drawing in the company's 50-year history, during which lucky winners have receiv

Reliable online website for <snip>
The person who posted this is lying. They are not from Canada. In fact, they are one of the people who runs a sleazy online lottery service out of South America. They slipped a word in there a couple times that is a keyword from their web site, I guess hoping that search spiders would think it's an important word because it appears on Lottery Post. Even though the person's account has bee suspended, I am leaving this post on here as an example and a warning: any post like this is almost al

Lottery scams hard to resist for some
If I won money and drove to the Lottery Office, I certainly would expect to complete paperwork, show ID and have the 25% tax deducted. In Ohio and in most states when you win $600 up to $5000, any lottery terminal agent can validate the ticket, fill out a form, and give you a voucher that you take to a designated bank for payment. Taxes are not deducted. The bank charges a $10 processing fee and that's what I meant about the Teller having no common sense because she wanted the 10 bucks befo
