Mega Millions multi-state lottery to get harder to win in Oct.
Not only will it be more difficult to win the grand prize but the odds on the 2nd tier prize will go up over 400%. Curious to see what they bump the payout for 2nd place. There are many states that offer in-state lottery games with much better odds and higher jackpots than 2nd place in MM.

Can we agree that it was not our time to win the BigOne- at least for now?
I am sorry but I don't agree with that. Nobody has predetermined set of time in life when they are going to win and nobody deserves to win more than the others. Everybody has equal chance to win but with the odds of 1 out of 175 millions, the odds are stacked against us.

PB California - Did they do the math right?
California paid out 16.1% of their total sales to 769,585 secondary prize winners. Only 2 (the 5 + 0 winners) of the 769,585 winning tickets won more than the same type of prize winnings won in other states and the other 769,583 won less. 435,645 of those tickets beat odds of 55 to 1 to win a buck and another 227,540 tickets beat odds of 111 to 1 to win a buck. The real complaint should be about all the California secondary prizes and not just the 5 + 0.

$190 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot rolls
Once they eliminate the odds of anyone ever winning the jackpot, they can start out with a larger one since it will be unlikely they would have to pay it out.
