In NY, I have not seen any of the vending machine requiring to scan your license. I had stopped at a truck stop in CT once and I had to scan my license with that lottery vending machine. It does cut down on underage ticket buying, but it probably varies from state to state.

I was in another store and a woman told the clerk the same type of vending machine wouldn't accept her MM play slips after she put in $20. The clerk took the plays slips and ran them through the terminal and put an out of order sign on the vending machine. It's the rest of the info on my license that I'd be concerned about especially before buying tickets too.

Iowa Lottery hopes to upgrade vending machines by end of SeptemberNews Story
The Iowa Lottery is going to work after the governor signed a bill Friday to allow them to upgrade their vending machines to modern technology. Lottery spokesperson Mary Neubauer, says they want to have something in place once the maintenance contract on the current machines expires.
