Is 50 Million Dollars Not Enough??
No, $50 million is not enough. Though I'd be happy with a much smaller amount, I'll put my money where the best odds are per dollar spent in relation to the jackpot size. I played the state Hit 5 for a while, until the jackpot of $730,000 was hit February 15. With odds of 1:575,757, that seemed worth throwing a few dollars at, and at my age it would be plenty of money for me to upgrade my living style considerably with what time I have left. But now Hit 5 is down to $100,000 again, so I think I'

"Your Methodology Of Purchasing Instant Scratch Tickets"
I personally have found better success by purchasing two tickets back to back every time. I tend to get the $10-20 scratchers which usually have the best odds of anywhere from 1:4.2 - 1:2.99 By getting two tickets, I feel my chances are always better, because had I bought just one ticket; the ticket just before or after could have been a winner. On average every other time I buy like this, I have a winning ticket. Pretty good overall odds I think.

Lottery jackpots may get bigger
Interesting points. The odds of getting 5 of 5 are still the same. The only improved odds are on the powerball, down to 35 from 39. Paying $2 - $3 is not a smart play when you can play a state game and get two to three times as many chances at a pot larger than $1 mill to $2 mill.

How to figure second chance odds
I'm curious to know if there is any info available on the percentage of second chance eligible tickets that are entered compared to thrown away. Also, I'm curious to know just how many winning tickets as a percentage are thrown in the trash? I've taken to hitting the stores trash bin after buying a few tickets to look for possible winners and second chancers. I'm amazed how many of both are thrown away. So far I've found hundreds of 2nd chance tickets and $40 worth of winners thrown away in the

$336 million Powerball ticket sold at R.I. supermarket
Too true Rad. I'll go to bed tonight with 1 to 175 Million odds just like I'll wake up in the morning with 1 to 175 Million odds. On a side note, I think I better give up smoking, that's an extra $3 a day I can save for retirement or towards my kids college.

Buying every combination for Powerball...Is it legal?
No. It makes no sense. The odds are still 175 million to one.

Do you REALLY expect to win?
I expect to win in that I know that if other people have won with the same odds, so can I. It's possible, even if it's not probable.

powerball ripoff
There are 35 Pballs 4 less than before the matrix is 59 X 35 the old was 59 X 39. The odds are slightly better. The $2 price is the true rip. The doubling of the price without halving the odds is what f*^$$ pi$$e$ me off!
