What does everyone think about private raffles?
The raffle I found is only $20 to enter. I watched that raffle for that house. Wasn't it in Washington County? That sucks for that guy considering the market, not to mention his realtor probably has him trying to get the same price the sellers of the house could not get, hence the raffle. The details for the raffle are. Grand Prize is a house or $250,000 over 10 years or a lump sum of $175,000. Odds are 1 in 77,000. There is no cost to the winner except those costs which occur during norma

DC Raffle Sales...Not Too Good!
The success of these raffles seems to depend on the state because in Florida's first raffle JustEx was shut out before she could get a ticket and it took over 7 weeks for Ohio to sell all the tickets in its first raffle draw and I believe less than 75% were sold in the second. Kentucky had to extend their drawing date because of lack of sales yet Michigan sold out $50 tickets in a couple of days. Remember the alleged $1 million winner in New Jersey's 4th of July raffle that didn't sell out a

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Looks like the last Raffles were in 2016 and 2017. Go to the lottery homepage, navigate to Media Resources/ Annual Reports and have a look at the sales graphs. 2007 was the year with the highest Raffle sales of any year that had a Raffle. I still think it was the drop in scratch-off sales in '24 that sparked this year's Raffle. Guess they miscalculated the players' willingness to drop $20 per play.

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Does anyone know when the last millionaire raffle was held? I moved to Florida in 2020 and this raffle is the first one I've seen. I doubt anybody but the Florida Lottery knows if there was a ticket buying frenzy toward the back end of the sales cycle for the previous raffle. I'm looking forward to seeing the ticket sales number as of tomorrow posted on the lottery's website. Hoping we see a number in the range of 318,000 to 321,000. G5

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
263272 tickets sold as of 5/21. Let's work this one from the back end. 640900 tickets need to be sold just to fund all prizes (so, does not includes costs incurred by the Lottery to set up the Raffle, or associated advertising, and does not include funding for education, which is the Lottery's raison d'etre.) 640900 minus 263272 leaves 377628 tickets needing to be sold by June 30, the last day to buy tickets (40 days from now.) 377628 divided by 40 equals an average of 9440 tickets need to

Lottery Post's guide to 2025 holiday raffles across the USA
Well, without putting it quite like that, I don't understand why every lottery doesn't have a holiday raffle every year. For example, my home state of New Jersey has the raffle one year and then doesn't have it again for several more years. Yet, it sells out every time they do have it. I wish state lotteries would explain themselves for the obvious money left on the table. At the same time, hats off to Pennsylvania, which in my view has the perfect raffle every year.

Lottery Post's guide to 2023 holiday raffles across the USA
I was up in Montana visiting a friend and I grabbed a few raffle tickets from two different stores on my way back to Utah. The lines were long and people were excited. I also picked up some Idaho raffle tickets along the way. But I'm more excited for Montanas drawing. I wish Florida would bring back their Raffle.... Cheers good luck everyone!!

Lottery Post's guide to 2023 holiday raffles across the USA
In my opinion, Pennsylvania has consistently delivered an excellent raffle structure for the longest of any lottery in the USA. I really like the weekly early bird drawings that deliver really good prizes, and the main drawing offers a nice spread of cash prizes. Tickets go on sale next week, so I'll be starting my weekly ticket buy. I am frankly mystified as to why New Jersey doesn't offer a raffle every year. On the years they do offer it, their raffle always seems to have a good structure
