The odds of PowerBall and Mega Millions are huge and that's what makes the jackpots grow and because of the odds, it's unlikely there will be more than 3 winners on one drawing. For the same dollar bet one lucky player can win multi-millions compared to winning $500 playing pick-3. Many states held raffles over the holidays and several players became millionaires. That's probably as close as you'll get to what you're suggesting.

You might be right but buying 87,855,768 tickets does not reduce the odds to 1 in 2 - there are still almost 88 millions possible combinations left over.

He is no expert. He has never won Florida Lotto (odds 1:23 million).
