Check my math, please?? :)
Excellent, thank you. That was just what I was wondering. The great advice of some lottery websites are a little misleading. Anyway, I looked at the history of drawing results for that particular lottery and found something mildly cool. Of the last hundred drawings, a number from the previous drawing showed up in the new drawing 35% of the time instead of the expected 44%. I did the math and that should put the odds well over QP's by picking a number from the previous results, but it also lowers

Check my math, please?? :)
Here's where you are confused. You're confusing yourself with your own words....lol
First you say there is a 44% chance of getting a repeat number, and you prove it. But you run into trouble when you equate the 44% chance with the odds of hitting the JP. I'll show you...The following is your quote:
So 1 in 11.2 chances of 1 particular number being chosen, and if there are 5 numbers drawn each drawing 11.2/5 = 1 in 2.24 or 44%.
You proved that it is 44%. Then at the end you're puzzled

What's with NY Sweet Million??
Your chances of winning a jackpot are better if you spend all of your money on a single drawing, but the improvement is very small. If you were playing a game with odds of 1 in 10 you could play 1 number for each of 10 drawings and be wrong every time, or you could play all 10 numbers in one drawing and be guaranteed to win. Similarly, your chances of winning a jackpot are slightly better if you buy 100 tickets for a single drawing of lotto or MM instead of buying 1 ticket for each of 100 drawin

Powerball or Megamillions The odds are against you..
Odds whatever. One time I played 100 numbers @ 50 cents a pop straight on the p3. I won nada, had I chose box as well, I would've won nada as well. For a year there I listened to the odds arguement and played and spent time on the 5/38 game. I did just the same as I did with Powerball. Now this year, this month specifically I've gone back to my game of choice, the Powerball. I love the allure of the Powerball. The little games do not have that allure. And I want to be able to leave my stressful

I Am Going To Win A Mega Millions Jackpot Someday
I agree with you that it is a game, a game of chance. That is why i have stated in the past the following, MEGA MILLIONS 1 IN 175 MILLIONS ODDS TO WIN THE JACKPOT AND POWERBALL 1 IN 195 MILLIONS ODDS TO WIN THE JACKPOT. SOMEONE WILL WIN, THAT IS A FACT.
Which means that anybody can win the jackpot by taking a chance regardless of whether we spend $1 or $100 in tickets. Everybody that plays has a chance to win it all.I hope that might help.

what about people with a system that only share half of the system
The only way to guarantee winning the top lottery prize is to play every combinations and short of that a lottery system can only improve your odds of winning a prize and even that is not guaranteed.
If you don't fully understand how a system try to improve your odds of winning or trust its author who says it does then you shouldn't use it. Even the workings of commercial systems likes those of Gail Howard, Steve Player and others aren't fully explained, you either take their words that they

Does positive thinking
At sometime today I'm going to buy 6 PB tickets (with power play of course) and I'll know for a fact each ticket has a chance to hit the jackpot. I also know the odds against any one of those tickets are astronomically high. After the tickets are in my pocket I'll forget about the odds against me and thoughts of how I'll spend the winnings will enter my mind. So just the action of buying the tickets has me thinking positive.
Since millions of tickets will be sold and millions of players will

Texas Two Step Odds
Or is the original poster questioning the actual odds published by the Texas Lottery, as I would? The math:
35x34x33x32 =1256640::1 - four specific numbers from 1 to 35 drawn in exact order.
1256640/(1*2*3*4) = 52360::1 - four specific numbers from 1 to 35 drawn in any order. - This is slightly more generous than the 53,900::1 odds posted by the Texas Lottery and would be the answer to the original poster's query about a ticket with Bonus Ball 21, or, for that matter, any specific bonus ba

I'm going to win $80,000,000!
The main fact about lotteries is that , someone will win regardless of the odds. That is why we play.

Texas Two Step Odds
Lets say I play every Bonus Ball number (35 tickets total).
Then, I QP the White Balls for all 35 tickets.
The Bonus Ball drawn is 21.
I have a ticket with the winning Bonus Ball, but I QP'd the White Balls.
So, what are the odds of having the four winning White Balls on the ticket with Bonus Ball 21?
Is it still 1:53,900?
Here is the chart:
I know I would lose money by playing that way, but I am just curious about the odds.
