Clearly your chances of winning are ten times better playing the 5/39 game.
If you were to buy two tickets with 10 unique numbers the odds of having all five winning numbers among the ten for a three number win or better would be . . .

Something stinks with Powerball
Complaining about this is silly. Powerball is paid over 30 years, MegaMillions over 25 years so of course MM has to put in more money into the front end to get to those advertised jackpots. Both annuities are from Treasury Bonds I believe and I'm not even going into how the annuity and especially the cash option is affected by T-Bill rates.

I guess you can't figure out that doubling the price of a ticket is exactly the same thing as doubling the odds, and then only selling tickets in pairs.

Been wanting to know the answer to this for years...
I would take those two or three numbers go to the store and quick pick the remainning 3 or 2 numbers.
The way I see it, if you cover your odds, luck has a better chance of covering the rest of the odds for you.
