National lottery, or 3d major game?
I meant it's a dream if you think gov't would get involved and not screw it up.
As far as striking, boycotting, or effecting change, there' a bit of a difference between protesting nuclear facilities or toxic waste dumps as opposed to something that, in all honesty, amounts to a silly game.
I don't quite understand your thinking behind the competition thing, I rather doubt they would change to odds or the purses much to benefit us, the players. Maybe a little, but not much.

Lottery Raffles
This is a good subject. Todd just posted an article about the FL New Year's game, so you might see some answers on that thread. I found this one by searching. I am not sure what I think. $20 for one ticket is a lot of money for me, although I see people spending $100 or more every week at the counter for scratch tickets or Lotto. I might buy 1 or 2, since the odds of 125,000 to 1 are much better than 22 million to 1 for the 6/53 game, although the payoff is less. Even if I buy 20 Lotto tic

Anyone hate a certain lottery game?
Jimmy,
Scratch-offs have the best odds of hitting something (usually a buck or two), but are the very worst in odds-to-payout ratio.

Help JADELottery
Thanks for taking your time to help on this one JadeLottery! There is brilliance in your logic and the way you apply those formulas. However, the odds of 1 in 24,939,240,465 for 21 hits in 979 draws seem extraordinarily inflated to me.
I was expecting the odds/probability to be more around one in several hundred thousand or possibly as high as 1 in 2,000,000 or so. From a statistacal perspective, the frequency of boxed combos that show 10 and 11 hits within 979 consecutive trials would s

Using these guidelines would you play Russian Roulette where the odds are 1 in 6 (16.6%)?

Personal Numbers
KY Floyd,
What you say could be a fact but it doesn't matter to those using a system to pick their numbers. Most of the people who post here understand odds and how the size of the matrix effects them but players who use a system to pick their numbers enjoy the challenge of trying to beat the odds and some are better at it than others as shown by the prediction statistics. It's part of the fun of playing the lotteries.

Personal Numbers
You're completely right that it's very unlikely that a pattern will repeat forever.
I'm also not sure which patterns you're referring to as 5/0 and 3/2, but as PROB 988 says, it's all based on the relative number of possibilities. Since MM has an even number of numbers to choose from, there are exactly the same chances that all numbers will be odd or all will be even. Eliminating half of the numbers from consideration reduces the possible combinations from 3,819,816 to 98,280, which is not
