Ohio LOP-how much longer?
You're playing the wrong game, the Rolling Cash5 will payout a jackpot of $300K+ tonight if there's a winner and the odds of winning it is 1:500K. If there isn't a winner tonight then the jackpot will roll to an even larger amount with the same odds of winning. You've just got to play smarter and pick your games at the right time. Good luck.

Pick 6
KRB, I see a lot of repeats on this trend. I think you should do more evens than odds.

N.C. Lottery to introduce $10 scratch game
I've played Florida's $20 Gold Rush. It's a great game with great prizes. I've won $100 4 or 5 times. Overall odds are 1:2.9. You have a 1 in 15 shot of winning either $50 or $100. I only buy one because if you lose that's a lot of money to lose at once. (For a college student anyway). You have about 1 in 175 chance of winning $500. Those odds have me begging for more. LOL

interest groups lining up to lobby on web gambling
The odds of a bill's becoming law this year appear long. Beyond that, nearly everyone agrees that online betting may be unstoppable because of the reach of the Internet and the difficulty in regulating its activity.
hopefully the odds will always be long.....

The Truth Behind the Numbers

Only kidding, but buying two tickets does cut the ODDS in half, not to be confused with the fact you are still playing only two tickets out of millions.
Most states that sell two tickets for a dollar cut the odds in half per dollar, they might know what they are doing, though in Canada they don't cut the odds in half, maybe it's a cultural thing like yogurt. BobP

The Truth Behind the Numbers
I agree with you, Badger. Talk about odds and probability are esoteric arguments in games with huge amounts of possible outcomes.

The Odds Are The Reality
Wow, I didn't realize how few people don't have dictionaries. As if there aren't enought states correcting halving their odds by having 2 tickets per play.
This will be the last time since if someone doesn't want to get something why bother explaining it.
WA state lotto is a 6/49 game. $1 gets 2 plays. Odds of winning are about 1:7 million as listed on the website. Many other states and Canadian provinces have multiple plays per purchase (either one or two dollars). The odds if it were on

The Odds Are The Reality
Quote: Originally posted by guesser on June 27, 2006For most folks, playing the lottery is a GAME, something to do to occupy time, no different than any other game, except the odds are a lot worse, and the longshot possibility of a large payoff is simply fun to dream about. We have to be able to dream.
Besides, I play Powerball with the intentions of hitting the 5 white balls, I don't even count on the Powerball itself.
Nebraska pick 5 pays like $75,000 and has 49 numbers, but the Power

N.Y. lottery jackpot raised to $45 million
That's just fantastic. Wouldn't it be great if it paid 50%? Just imagine, $6 for 3 numbers in NY Lotto. It would be possible with just a 50% payout.
But back to the jackpot, for the odds you can't do much better. After taxes the cash option would be about $15 million, compare that the the odds of about one 1 in 22 million.
