If you wanted to bet $300 in MM, what would be the smartest method?
Hi Leto,
Welcome to Lotterypost. Your name reminds me of Lido's Restaurant in Springfield...it's my grandparents favorite place to visit in the Pioneer Valley.
To answer your second question:
The odds of hitting the megaball are 1 in 46.
When you hit the megaball, you could also match 0,1,2,3,4 or 5 white balls. Six different outcomes. When you add up all the odds of 0+1, 1+1, 2+1, 3+1, 4+1 and 5+1, you will get odds of 1 in 46. But each event by itself (e.g. 0+1) has less than

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
I have a feeling the real world odds of it cracking 300 million on this run are way less than 3%.

would you still play?
Good luck retiring from winning a lottery game with less than half a million combinations. I suppose you could if you won it twenty times in a row, but it's impossible if you only beat those odds once. The whole point of Powerball and Mega Millions is to have to beat such astronomical odds to win the top prize, but if you beat them just once you can retire. Despite the recent low jackpot wins in Mega Millions, I don't see it increasing its matrix anytime soon so long as it doesn't let in any

Not everyone plays on line and for a lot of us the best lottos are the ones we can get to, usually that's our own state's and perhaps neighboring states.
You have some points about the Illinois Lotto versus Mega Millions - to a point-
Mega Millions and Powerball are actually two lotto games in one - if you get struck by ligtning and get all five numbers right on top, you are actually in another lotto to combine those 5 right with the one right number, of 46, on the bottom (

Mega Millions lottery jackpot increased to $47 million
So I am guessing since CA entered into a parimutual agreement when joining MM, that the odds that other MM states going parimutal is low.
